Gals Fore Giving – Friday June 28
Gearing up for the sixth annual “Gals Fore Giving” golf outing has added motivation this year for members of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary. That impetus stems from a recent pledge of $100,000.00 the organization has made in support of the hospital’s new emergency treatment wing, set for ground breaking in the upcoming months.
The all-women golf outing – at the Emerald Friday June 28 – has become a vital fund raiser but in light of the Auxiliary’s commitment it takes on greater significance.
In a joint statement issued by co-chairs of the event, Shelley Gunther and Ann Hufnagel, “Gals Fore Giving has become, without doubt, one of the major contributors to our hospital support and now it is even more important because of the pledge we’ve made!”
With that in mind, members continue their efforts to recruit various sponsors, golf teams and individual golfers to round out the day’s activities.
“Despite all the effort,” commented Ms. Gunther, “the day itself is nothing but fun-filled. It’s a ‘women’s day out’ using golf as the excuse to get together. Certainly there are some good golfers, but for the most part, everyday hitters set the spirit of the event.”
Meanwhile, in addition to golfers, there are a few opening for sponsors. Levels of sponsorships include “Volunteer,” $50-$200; “Visitor,” $201-$500; “Patient,” $501-$1,000 and “Recovery,” $1,001+. Other methods of support include lunch at the turn, ($375) and deli-buffet at day’s end, ($450). On-course hole sponsorships are $50 each.
Four person team registrations are $300 and individuals can sign on for $75.
