Arnold Duane Jones
Arnold Duane Jones age 80, of Rockledge FL; died Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Rockledge Health and Rehab Ct; Rockledge, FL. He was born June 17, 1932 in Eagle, MI. and had been a resident of Brevard County for 37 years moving here from Lapeer, MI. Mr. Jones was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a private investigator in Brevard Co; after retirement as a Michigan State Police Officer.
Members of his family include his wife of 37 years, Beth Jones, Rockledge; 4 daughters, Dianne Bullion, Groton, CT; Linda Jones, Rockledge, FL; Peggy Dowling, and Teri Decker, Both Palm Bay, Fl. 2 Sisters, Joyce VanDeusen, Lake Michigan, MI; Barbara Cox, ST. Johns, MI; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his Father and Mother and a grandchild.

Gaylord Austin (Gade) Crowell
Gaylord Austin (Gade) Crowell, age 94, of St. Johns, MI died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Grace Haven Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI on Tuesday, May 14th at 10:00 A.M., Pastor Mona Dye will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 6-8 P.M.. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI.
Gaylord was born in Flint, MI on July 9, 1918, the son of William and Gertrude (Slayton) Crowell. He married Geraldine “Jeri” Kentfield on March 19, 1940 in Brian, OH and she died June 30, 2006 after 66 years of marriage. Gaylord retired from Sealed Power Manufacturing as a Tool Grinder after 28 years of service. He was also a lifelong farmer and he and Jeri built Twin Oaks Golf Course and opened in the early 1970’s. He was a member of Greenbush United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Richard and Norma Crowell of St. Johns, MI and Tim Crowell of McMillan, MI, one daughter, Christine and Robert Abbs of Dewitt, MI, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Gade was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Thompson, daughter-in-law, Barbara Crowell, one granddaughter. Sandy Borie, and his ten brothers and sisters.

Lawrence J. Koenigsknecht
Lawrence J. “Champ” Koenigsknecht, 64 years old, of Lansing, MI (formerly of Fowler), passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 in Lansing, Michigan. Larry was born on August 4, 1948 in St. Johns, Michigan. Larry was a General Motors employee, member of the Local #652; St. Gerard Catholic Parish; Vietnam veteran and proud member of the VFW Post #3733. Larry enjoyed being at his cottage, fishing, bowling, auctions and loved being retired.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eva; son, Brandon (Marysa Embury) and grandson, Phoenix. He is also survived by his father, Alfred Koenigsknecht (Loretta Kappler); siblings: Carol Eldridge, Jim (Marsha) Koenigsknecht, Tom (Jacque), Mike (Diane), Dale (Therese) and Diane (Brad) Hulliberger; mother-in-law, Theda Fleming; and step-son, Todd Foland. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends. Larry was predeceased by his mother Anna Rose; brother, Ken; step-daughter Paula Foland-Hood; brother-in-law, Doug Eldridge; father-in-law, Jeff Fleming; nephew, Kenny; and his grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Sunday, May 12th with a rosary service at 8PM and Monday, May 13th from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm with a rosary service at 3 pm and scripture service at 8:00 pm, at the Osgood Funeral Home, Goerge Chapel, 11112 West Ionia Street, Fowler, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 10:30 am at Most Holy Trinity Church in Fowler. The con-celebrants will be Father John Klein and Father Dennis Howard. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fowler. Donations may be made to the St. Gerard Educational Trust Fund, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917.

Alberta Jean Makara Teed
Alberta Jean Makara Teed passed away May 11, 2013 at the age of 81. Born October 21,1931 in Gratiot County, MI, Alberta was the daughter of Perry and Pearl (Leiner) Thompson. She was a Past President of Parents Without Partners. Alberta married John Makara in 1950 and Lee Teed in 2002, and both preceded her in death.
Alberta is survived by her sons John Joseph (Donna) Makara of Lansing, Jerold (Renae) Makara of St. Johns; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Wicke, John “Nick” Makara, Ranee Makara, Jacob Makara, Cierra Pfeil; great grandchildren, Jazmine, Cheyenne, Anabelle and Olivia; brothers, Harry (Grace) Thompson, Melvin (Dee) Thompson; and sisters, Ruth Ann Ingersoll, Rosemary Edwards, June Husted, Jane Thompson, and Patty Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John and Lee; son, James Makara; brothers, Carl and Earl Thompson; and sisters, Bertha Meseraull, Alice Griffin, and Florence Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Eureka Christian Church with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday, May 13, 2013 and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Eureka Christian Church, 2619 Maple Rapids Rd., Eureka, MI. Also, a very special thanks to Great Lakes Hospice for their outstanding care.

Brian L. Parker, age 62, of Lansing, MI, formerly of Ovid, MI died Friday, May 10, 2013 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
Brian was born in St. Johns, Michigan on December 24, 1950, the son of Arza Parker and Leta (Goodrich) Gleason. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1970. On June 15, 2003 Brian married Peggy Deiter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian retired from General Motors in Flint, MI, after 32 years of service. He enjoyed traveling to the Great Lakes visiting lighthouses. His family was very important to him and he really enjoyed his dogs. He resided most of his life in Ovid, Michigan moving to Lansing in 2000.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Parker of Lansing, MI, daughter Amy and John Gibson of Owosso, MI, son Jeffrey Parker and Melissa Bennett of Laingsburg, MI, stepdaughter Kamela and Michael Thelen of Dimondale, MI, stepson John and Amy Deiter of Dewitt, MI, grandchildren; Corbin, Jacob, Madison, Gweny, Davin, Tyler, and Chelsey, his children’s mother Suzanne Parker, Ovid, MI, and his best buddies Moka and Kaiser, his dogs. He was predeceased by his parents.

Elvin Ralph Wieber
Elvin Ralph Wieber, age 67 of Lansing, passed away May 8, 2013. Elvin was born on December 8, 1945 in St. Johns, MI, and he graduated from St. Johns, High School in 1963. He married Linda Woodbury on October 18, 1968. In 1998 Elvin retired as Sales Manager from M&M Distributors after 30 years of service. For the last several years he worked with his friends at Quality Tire. Elvin also proudly served in the Marine Corp. Reserves. He was always the life of the party and his presence was always known. He knew how to make everyone laugh. He was an avid MSU and Tigers fan, he loved playing golf and taking casino trips with mom. Fishing was a favorite and he treasured attending his grandchildren’s sporting events even in the rain. Elvin was a longtime member of St. Therese Church in Lansing.
Surviving Elvin is his wife of 45 years Linda (Woodbury) Wieber, and children, Steve (Mary Jo), Ryan (Molly), Heather (Bill) Fransee, and Aaron (Nicole). 11 grandchildren, Danielle, Nick, Tony, Ben, Jake, Sophie, Matthew, Payton, Ashley, Ellie, and Adriana. Also surviving Elvin are, sisters Donna Kus, Edna (Mark) Eaton, Katheleen Endres, Eunice (Denny) LaBar, and brother Melvin (Julia) Wieber and many special friends. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents Clara and Anthony Wieber, brothers Richard, Tony, Lloyd, and Herbert; sisters Geraldine and Ann Marie, and granddaughter Alexis.
A Funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Jude Catholic Church at 10am with visitation 1 hour before. Burial will follow at Gunnisonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Tiffany Funeral Home Lansing on Friday, May 10th from 4-8pm, Rosary at 7pm. Contributions can be made in Elvin’s honor to St. Therese Church or St. Vincent DePaul.
