Mrs. Nobis Retires

In November, 1956 Mrs. Leah Etta Cook, Clinton County Juvenile Agent and Matron of the Childrens Home, passed away. Miss Alta Black, the home’s housekeeper/cook, took charge of the home until a new matron could be hired.
In early 1957 Clinton County hired Mrs. Irene Nobis to take over as the Childrens Home Matron. During her tenure a new Childrens Home was built on S. Swegles St. and the house on E. Gibbs St. was sold.
Mrs. Nobis served until 1973 and then retired.
