Did Spaulding really build that house?
Is Mr. Zimmerman sure the Babcock House was built by Gen. Spalding? He may be right. We always thought the Babcocks built this lovely house.
We have known of the Ballantines, Bensons, and Kuntz couple owning this property.
I am curious.

[Edior’s note: Ah, we are all too young to remember. The house was, indeed, built by Gen O.L. Spaulding. Here is a photo of the original house. Obviously the Babcocks made extensive renovations in 1911.]
