E. Wayne Parker
E. Wayne Parker, died November 13, 2013 at the age of 91. Born March 3, 1922 in Lansing, the son of R.D. and Lola (Ash) Parker. Wayne was a member of V.F.W.-Dewitt Post #671 having served in the Army during WWII and was a retired truck driver from Howard Sober, Inc. of Lansing. Wayne married Etta Burnett on December 14, 1941 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 1983.
He is survived by his four children, Gary (Julie) Parker of Florida, Sandra Wake of Dewitt, Patricia Parker and Suszanne (Paul) Hunter all of Lansing, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Etta, Wayne was preceded in death by special friend, Maxine Farnum, sister, Donnalee (Dale) Wetzel and two brothers, Raymond (Josephine) Parker and Donald Parker.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, with Graveside services to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Duplain Cemetery with Pastor Gary Hawes officiating.

Clara Jane Maron
Clara Jane Maron, age 89, of Owosso died November 12, 2013. Born November 13, 1923 in Durand, MI she was the daughter of Clarence and Rose (McLaughlin) Wiseley. Along with her husband, brother and sister-in-law, Clara owned and operated Maron’s IGA in Ovid, MI. She was a member of the United Church of Ovid and the ACME Club. On August 26, 1945 in Owosso, MI Clara married Herman “John” Maron who preceded her in death in 2003.
Surviving are her children, Jane A. Reed of Ovid, Robert L. (Lori) Maron of Okemos; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Mary Ryan; brothers, Mac (Shirley) Wiseley, Robert Wiseley, David (Linda) Wiseley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, John, Clara was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas A. and John E. Maron; and brother, Ike Wiseley.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid, MI 48866 with Pastor Paul Damkoehler officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid. The family will receive friends from 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to United Church of Ovid, 131 W. Front St., Ovid, MI 48866.

Jacob L. Cantrell
Jacob L. Cantrell died Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age of 24. He was born August 30, 1989 in Carson City, MI the son of Jeff Cantrell and Carmen Karber. Jacob was a graduate of St. Johns High School, Class of 2008 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Surviving is his father, Jeff Cantrell and step-mother, Amy Lerew; his mother, Carmen Karkau; brother, Chase Cantrell; sisters, Rachael Karkau and Emily Lerew; grandmother, Donna Karber and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no services. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
Bruce E. Cramer
Bruce E. Cramer, age 86, of St. Johns died November 12, 2013. Born February 3, 1927 in St. Johns, Bruce was the son of Cecil and Ivah (Wagner) Cramer. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked as an inspector at Motor Wheel Corporation in Lansing. While working at Strawsine Manufacturing in Corunna, Bruce met the love of his life, Karen Miller. They were married on June 19, 1965 in Ovid, MI.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; children, Brian Cramer of St. Johns, Brett (Candace Fenby) Cramer of Laingsburg, Barbara Cramer of DeWitt; grandchildren, Stephanie and Nicklas Cramer; sister-in-law, Josephine (Garret) Gruner; and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1400 S. Oakland St., St. Johns, MI 48879 with Pastor Willie Iwankiw officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

John A. Furry
John A. Furry, 81 of St. Johns went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2013. John was born April 28, 1932 in Bethlehem, PA. He was high school Valedictorian and received his B.A. from Michigan State University where he was captain of the gymnastics team. John then earned his M.A. from Central Michigan University.
John has resided in St. Johns for 57 years. He was a teacher, guidance counselor and Director of Adult and Community Education. He was the first wrestling coach and also coached boys and girls gymnastics. John was responsible for starting the soccer program in St. Johns. He was a member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, Men’s Art Club and served on the City Commission (Vice Mayor).
John was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir for over 55 years. His many hobbies included drawing and painting, fishing and playing cards. He also enjoyed helping people, especially his children on home improvement projects. John will be dearly missed.
He was the beloved husband of Carroll Furry for 59 years; the cherished father of 5 children; Lynne (Rob) Lewis, Todd (Mary) Furry, Scott (Barb) Furry, Jenine (Paul Clifford) Furry and Laura (Tim Franz) Rayner; loving grandfather to Kyle, Nicholas, Kristen, Zachary, Chad, Sara, Grant, Erika, Alexander, Spencer, Leah, Winston and Frances Carroll. He is survived by a brother, Francis (Ethel) Furry, sister, Karen Ruyle, sister-in-law, Nina, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ellen Zienert officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2013, 5-8 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns First United Methodist Church.
Antoinette A. Hafner
Antoinette A. Hafner, age 92, died November 11, 2013. She was born December 14, 1920 in Westphalia, the daughter of William and Frances (Halfman) Rademacher. She married Joseph Hafner on November 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1986.
Antoinette is survived by her children, Ken (Pat) Hafner of Fowler, Marlene Hufnagel of St. Johns, Denise (Bob) Plowman and Neil (Rose) Hafner all of Fowler, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, sisters, Agatha Feldpausch and Eugenia (Alban) Arens, brother, Dennis (Mary Lou) Rademacher, sisters-in-law, Sally Rademacher and Mary Rademacher, brother-in-law, Mark Pung, son-in-law Dick (Dee) Pohl and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Antoinette was preceded in death by, daughter, Joanne Pohl, son-in-law, Chuck Hufnagel, brothers, Eldred, Roderick, Harold (Alice) Rademacher, sisters, Margaret (Melvin) Schneider, Daria Pung and brother-in-law, James Feldpausch.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler, with Fr. William Koenigsknecht presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m., at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

Nancy J. Brown
Nancy J. Brown died Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 82. She was born March 11, 1931 in Ferndale, MI the daughter of Frank and Marie (Herson) Ferguson. Nancy was a graduate of Lapeer High School, Class of 1950. She worked at the D & C store in St. Johns for several years and was a member of First Baptist Church. On February 3, 1951 she married Jack H. Brown and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was also predeceased by her parents, one daughter, Vicki; a brother, Gordon and two sisters, Gerry Hoeffler and Pat Pierson.
Surviving is one daughter, Jeri Lynne (Robert) Bartley of Okemos; two sons, Michael (Joanie) Brown of Saginaw and Larry (Diane) Brown of Lansing; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am to 12:00 noon Monday, November 11, 2013 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Interment will be at 1:00pm at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Sue Ellen Salisbury
Sue Ellen Salisbury, age 68, of St. Johns, MI passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her home.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Sue was born in Ovid, Michigan on November 8, 1944, the daughter of Howard Francis and Ellen Mae (Bishop) Salisbury. Sue graduated from Springfield Local High School Holland, Ohio with the class of 1962. She resided most of her life in Toledo, Ohio moving to Michigan in 1991. Sue was retired from Clinton Area Transit Authority as a secretary, in 2010. She taught Sunday school for many years at Grace Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Ovid, Michigan.
She is survived by 2 sisters; Carol Henry of Bannister, MI, Ethel and Harold Magaw of Grand Junction CO, 1 brother Keith and Jodean Salisbury of Chesaning, MI, many cousins and many friends. Sue was predeceased by her parents, and brother in law Jerry Henry.
