Holiday Programs and more
Our holiday programs will be on Thursday, December 5th, 6-8pm, Friday, December 6th, 6-8pm and Saturday, December 7th, 10-11:30 am. Caroling Kids and Musical Guests will perform at 6pm on Thursday evening, a holiday story will be read at 6 pm on Friday and Musical Guests will perform at 10am at the Saturday morning program. There will be stories from Santa, jingle bell music, reindeer and other winter games, holiday crafts, homemade cookies and pop for refreshments and of course a visit with Santa. Make sure you mark your calendar so you won’t miss the free holiday family fun!
Children must be accompanied by adults. No registration is required for this program.
Tween Program
There is still time to register for the ‘Tween Holiday Program with our special guest, local author Peggy House. This free program is open to all ‘tweens age 9-12, and will feature a reading by Mrs. House from her new book, “Prairie Anna,” a craft, and refreshments. The fun takes place Monday, December 9 at 7pm.
Mitten Tree
The library’s annual mitten drive will run until Monday, December 9th. Mittens and gloves must be new (home-made or store bought.) The collection is for all ages, adult or child. Items collected will be donated to charitable organizations. The greatest need is for mittens and gloves.
Toys for Tots
We are a toy collection site for Toys for Tots (Clinton County). You may bring in new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Items for older children are especially appreciated.
Get Connected at Briggs
The library will be offering its Computer Basics class in January. The class is designed for new computer users with little to no experience, and will cover basic computer terms, correct usage of the mouse and keyboard, tips for working with Windows 7, and an introduction to the Internet. The class will meet Wednesday mornings, 10-11am, January 8-29. Registration for this free program is required and begins on Wednesday, December 18.
Pre-Reader Storytimes
These story-times are designed for independent listeners, ages 4 to 6. Select Tuesday mornings, 10:30-11, January 14th – February 18th or Thursday evenings, 6:30-7, January 16th – February 20th. Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, December 17th.
Library Closures
The Library will be closed on Wednesday Dec. 11th from 11:15am – 1:15pm for the City of St. Johns Awards Luncheon. The Library will be closed on December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday and on December 31st and January 1st for the New Year’s Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout these closures.
