Mayors and Nuns

Jack Smit owned Jack’s Body Shop as well as a Packard Dealership that later became a Mercury dealership and was located where LeVeck’s Small Engine Sales & Service is on N. Clinton Ave.
Sister Marie Jane was principal of the St. Joseph School.
Charles Coletta was employed at Sealed Power which today is Mahle located on W. State St.
Both Jack and Charlie served a stint as Mayor of St. Johns while Jack also served as the St. Johns Fire Chief.
The occasion is unknown but may have been the presentation of a safety award.
