Wilma Nadine Admire
Our beloved Wilma Nadine Admire peacefully transitioned to the protective and caring arms of our Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Wilma lived a happy and full life during her time on Earth. She was born on August 2, 1928 to her parents William Ray and Edna Dorthea Creel in Carol County Missouri. She grew up with four other siblings, her two sisters, Mary Jane Ditmar and Elizabeth “Libby” Hurd and her two brothers George Emil Creel and William “Bill” Ray Creel Jr. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her two sisters and her brother George. Her surviving brother Bill Creel lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Wilma’s life was rich with a large and loving family. Wilma married and started her family with her husband Delbert Lester Admire. Wilma and Delbert were very active in their church where Delbert was a pastor and Wilma taught Sunday school classes, wrote the church bulletins and played the piano and organ for the worship services while also helping to transport children and adults to church.
In addition to her busy family and church life, Wilma also had a long and successful career at a time when most women stayed home and took care of the family. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years before retiring in March of 1984. Wilma was also a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.
Delbert preceded her in death in March of 1998.
She is survived by her four children, Vicki Smith of St. Johns, Michigan; Dale Admire of Springfield, Missouri; Brian Admire of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Martin Admire of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wilma’s family later expanded to include many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wilma is survived by all her grandchildren; Michelle [Smith] Corgan, Scott Smith, Keith Admire, Robyn Admire, Emily Admire, Mischa Long, Tim Admire, Amy Admire and Joshua Admire. Wilma is also survived by all her great-grandchildren Sam Smith, Emma Smith, Damian Admire, Alex Admire, Alyssa Long, Avery Long and Aiden Long.
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and great grandmother during her life time and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her and especially by those who loved her.
The Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist in Centralia, Missouri and officiated by the Senior Adult Pastor with internment in East Lawn Cemetery in Mexico, Missouri will be in the spring to allow family and friends time to make travel arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice in memory of Wilma Admire.

Gary Lee Nostrant
Gary Lee Nostrant, of St. Johns, died January 11, 2014 at the age of 66. He was born May 12, 1947 in Lansing. Gary retired from GM and afterwards donated his time to Country Woods Archery and his talents as a children’s archery instructor. He was a member of the Central Free Methodist Church in Lansing, and a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Fowler Conservation Club, and Commemorative Bucks of Michigan. Gary married Carolyn Farthing in 1968 and she survives him.
Also surviving are his children, Shannon (Jeff) Beebe of St. Johns, Brent (Jennifer) Nostrant of Ithaca, Michelle (Jason) Waddell of Commerce Township; 5 grandchildren, Ranee Makara, Charli Langlois, Benjamin Langlois, Jack Waddell, and Maegan Waddell; great grandchild, Wyneva Langlois; brothers, Terry Nostrant, Gregory (Mari) Nostrant; and many half-brothers, half-sisters, nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlton and Luella Boss, and parents.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Central Free Methodist Church, 828 N. Washington Ave., Lansing, MI 48906 with Pastor Bruce Cromwell officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Central Free Methodist Church. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
Arlene M. Marten
Arlene M. Marten died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born April 17, 1929 in Bengal Township, Clinton County, Michigan the daughter of Carl and Alvina (Hopp) Rossow. Arlene was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. On October 8, 1947 she married Norman Marten and together they worked their farm until his death in 1986.
Surviving is a daughter, Judy Marten of DeWitt; two granddaughters, Patricia Wick of Westphalia and Jessica Graham of DeWitt; three great grandchildren, Mariah King, and twins, Deegan and Gavin Bearup; one sister, Norma (Bruce) Fitzpatrick of St. Johns and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, an infant grandson, Anthony Wick and a brother, Gerald “Bud” Rossow.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 8990 Church Rd. St. Johns with Pastor William Roper officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 14 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund or Great Lakes Hospice.
Glenna Pearl Findlay
Glenna Pearl Findlay, 89 of St. Johns, MI died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Grace Haven Assisted Living. Glenna was born on September 2, 1924 in Holland, MI the daughter of Henry G. and Jenny (Troost) Looman. She graduated from Holland High School and had attended Michigan State College. On November 3, 1945 she married Donald J. Findlay in St. Johns. Glenna was a member of Lowe United Methodist Church, was a church officer, taught Sunday School and Bible School. She had worked at Woodbury Flower Shop and worked with Don on the family farm.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Sue) Findlay of St. Johns, Patti (Roger) Gillespie of Clarkston, MI, and Jim (Janet) Findlay of Saginaw, MI; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Mae of Holland, MI; She was preceded in death by her husband, Don on August 20, 2006 and by a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at Lowe United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 12 noon. Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck will officiate. Burial will be at Lowe Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to Lowe United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
Stacey L. Bergeron
Stacey L. Bergeron, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday afternoon, January 7, 2014. Stacey was born, March 4, 1959 to Hazel McMillen and Dan Bergeron.
She is survived by her life time partner, best friend of 30+ years, Jimmie Fickies, her father, step father, Gary McMillen, sister, Noana, brothers, Andre and Kip, two step brothers, Kenny and Tracey, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Stacey was a member of Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, the UMW, and was a past District 22 President of the Rebeccas. She enjoyed singing in the choir and just being involved with all the above functions. Stacey will be remembered for her gracious smile, her love for life and most of all, the home made cards she made for all of us!
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will immediately follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers we ask for memorial donations to the Maple Rapids UMC.

Constance L. Porter
Constance L. Porter died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the age of 89. She was born February 16, 1924 in Detroit the daughter of Chris and Lena (Klyasheff) Ouzounoff. Connie was a member of First United Methodist in St. Johns. She worked as a secretary for an industrial equipment company and several churches before she retired. Volunteer activities included Meals on Wheels, tutoring children for whom English was a second language, transcribing books into Braille, and teaching Sunday school. On April 28, 1946 she married Frederick Porter and he survives her.
Also surviving are three sons, Christopher (Marjorie) Porter of Frankfort, MI, Dr. Donald (Louise) Porter of St. Johns, Frederick (Karen) Porter of Farmington Hills, MI; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 310 N. Main St., Suite 100 Chelsea, MI 48118. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
Violet Ellen McAdam
Violet Ellen (Ormston) McAdam, age 83, of Eagan, MN, formerly of Michigan. Violet devoted her life to family, God and community. She will hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” She dedicated her time and talent to her God and church for 53 years in music ministry as an organist and music director. She also served the community as an elementary school teacher for 23 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Glenn McAdam; sons, Richard (Patricia) McAdam of Decatur, GA, Lynn (Karen) McAdam of Sun City, AZ, and Gary (Becky) McAdam of Williamston, MI; daughter, Janette (Thomas) Schull of Eagan, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Kristin (Alex), Mark, Laura (Andrew), Ellen (Lucas), Timothy, Megan (Brad), Heather (Ricardo), Geoffrey (Kara), Steven and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Oliver, Corrina, Caleb and Gavin.
Funeral service were held 11:00 AM on Friday January 10, 2014 with visitation 1 hour prior, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 7132 Portland Ave. in Richfield. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Greenville College Music Department, Greenville College, 315 E. College Avenue, Greenville, IL 62246-1199

Sadie Guthrie
Sadie Ardessie Guthrie of Tavares Florida, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on January 5, 2014. Sadie Guthrie was 81 years old.
She is survived by her husband Ralph King of Tavares, FL. She is survived by her sons, Dan Cook and Rick Guthrie and daughters, Betty Caldwell, Marcie Emmons, Debra Maloney, Sandra Marsh, Darla Silkwood, Rebecca Simmons, Lynn Page, Julie Schafer and Laura Yates. She was a member of Weidman United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gaylord Cook, Roy Guthrie and Howard Peyton.
Funeral Services will be at Noon, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Osgood Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Simmons officiating, burial to follow at Payne Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to local literacy projects.
