Mary Halbeisen
The promise of spring is ever present in the hearts of the Mint City Singers as they gather for weekly rehearsals each Monday in preparation for appearances throughout the coming season. Under the leadership of new Music Director, Mary Halbeisen, the choir has begun preparations for its part on the annual Memorial Day program and other planned performances throughout the year.
Ms. Halbeisen, who joined the choral group in January, brings not only an impressive musical background, but a notable resume of previous directorship assignments and professional designations. She holds two Master Degrees in music from the University of Michigan and is a registered piano tuner and technician. Along with playing the piano and organ, she also serves as a cantor and plays in and directs hand bell ensembles. In addition to her work with the Mint City Singers, Ms. Halbeisen is the Music Director at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns. She is a native of Grand Rapids, currently residing in Grand Blanc.
