Christmas in 1971

A couple of workers are putting the finishing touches on the Community Christmas Tree on Courthouse lawn in 1971.
Today’s Christmas Tree is located at the north end of the downtown business district on the Depot lawn; and because it’s a live tree, it’s up year around.
The Courthouse went from looking old to looking more modern to being replaced by a building that some consider a little too huge.
