Serious bike accident in St. Johns

Lansing and State Streets
On May 1, 2014 at 11:25 a.m. the St. Johns Police Department responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of State Street and Lansing Street in the City of St. Johns.
An 18-year old male from Missouri was traveling northbound on Lansing Street on his bicycle when he ran a stop sign and struck an eastbound semi-tractor/trailer. The 18-year-old male was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing by Clinton Area Ambulance with multiple serious injuries.
Initial investigation shows that the bicyclist was at fault for failing to stop at the stop sign.
The St. Johns Police Department was assisted at the scene by Clinton Area Ambulance, St. Johns Fire Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division and Clinton County Central Dispatch.
