The community is invited to a Retirement Reception for St. Johns Middle School retirees Sandy Boots, Kathy Belles, Carole Mitchell, Ann Smith and Jo Welles Among them these educators have 133.5 years cumulative experience.
Please join them on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 3:30-5:30 at St. Johns Middle School in the Auxiliary Gymnasium. Light refreshments will be served.
Sandy Boots has taught for 14 years, all of them at St. Johns Middle School in the following subject areas: special education, English, mathematics, social studies, and reading.
Kathy Belles has taught 30 years, 20 of which were here in St. Johns. She has taught in 2 schools in the following subject areas: social studies, history, science, and elementary education.
Carole Mitchell has taught 25 years in 4 schools (Eureka, Swegles, Oakview South, and SJMS). She taught the following subject areas: social studies and elementary education in grades 1 and 3.
Ann Smith taught 35 years in 3 schools all in St. Johns: RBW, Central Elementary, and SJMS. She has taught special education, academic support, and health.
Jo Welles has taught 30 years, 3.5 of them in Blacksburg, VA and 26.5 of them in St. Johns. She taught at Eureka, Gateway, Perrin Palmer, and SJMS in the following subject areas: science, STARS, English, mathematics, and elementary education.
