Clinton County Senior Center
Quality daily activities and special member events have helped add 14 new members to the membership rolls at the Clinton County Senior Center in just one month. The Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
On a daily basis you can eat a lunchtime meal, play cards or other games, work on puzzles, exercise, play bingo, participate in trivia or Euchre tournaments and much more. Some people come in just to sit and chat, to browse through the library, play the phonograph or play the piano.
If you are age 55 and over you are invited to come and check out the center. You can become a member at no cost and there is no cost to get in on a daily basis. Since Monday lunches are a fundraiser there is a $3-$5 charge for that event (for sandwich and chips or full meal), but meals on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are by donation only.
If you decide to become a member you only need to fill out a brief form with your name, contact addresses and phone number, birth date and emergency contact information. You will then be invited to a variety of member events throughout the year, some that are totally free and some that may cost you a dollar or two.
Stop in at the Senior Center and pick up a calendar of events, take a tour or just chat with others. If you have any questions about the Senior Center call them at 989-224-4257.
