New at the Library – “Tale to Tail”
What do you get when you bring a child and a dog and a book together? Children’s confidence and reading skills grow in a relaxing environment. This “Tail Waggin’ Tutor” program with Arrow, a certified therapy dog, will be available for children ages 6 to 12. A child can read aloud for 15 minutes to Arrow in our quiet study room on Thursday evenings now through August 28th (NO July 3rd session). Arrow will be at the library from 6:30-7:30 pm. Registration is required. Call 224-4702 or stop at the circulation desk for available dates and times.
Movies at Briggs Library
This summer it’s Family Movie Fridays at Briggs Library. Each Friday until August 22 the library will be presenting family movies at 3:00pm. All movies will be rated G or PG, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The library will be closed on Friday, July 4, so our next feature will be Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax on Friday, July 11. Attendees can bring their own pillows or camp chairs if they wish, and refreshments will be available to purchase for a small fee. For more information about this or future shows contact the library at 224-4702 or stop by the circulation desk.
Briggs Reads!
Briggs Public Library is offering Briggs Reads! a community-wide reading event this summer! In September, the library will be hosting local author Lori Nelson Spielman, as she discusses her novel, “The Life List.” This charming book shares the story of one woman who sets out to complete her old list of childhood goals, and finds that her lifelong dreams lead her down a path she never expects. The library has multiple copies of the book on hand, and is inviting all interested patrons to read it this summer in advance of Ms. Spielman’s visit. If you are interested in reading the book, stop by the library to borrow a copy. The Briggs Reads! program has been generously sponsored by the Briggs Library Friends Group.

Library Closure

The Library will be closed Friday July 4th and Saturday July 5th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.
