The Clinton County Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns will be holding a free “Christmas in July” event on Wednesday, July 16 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be Christmas games, a holiday lunch, Christmas music, bingo, euchre and much more. Members will be asked to wear red and green for the day and RSVP to the center by Friday, July 11 if they will be attending. There are a multitude of events at the Senior Center on a daily basis such as Euchre, Bingo, Nutritional Meals, Free Blood Pressure Checks (second Wednesday from 11-12), Day Trips, Speakers and more. You can come and check everything out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00 pm.
Then on Friday, August 8 the Senior Center will be hosting Senior Citizens Days at the 30th Annual St. Johns Mint Festival. There will be free refreshments, bingo, goodie bags, door prizes, health checks (like blood pressure and blood sugar) and entertainment. Since the Senior Center is sponsoring this event, one lucky member of the Senior Center will win a special prize at the event valued at $75. You can become a member of the Senior Center by completing a brief application at the center and attending activities throughout the week.
The Clinton County Senior Center is a non-profit organization that has been in St. Johns for 35 years. There is no membership fee to join the center and no entry fee to attend each day. Most activities are available for a small fee of $1 and nutritional lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are available for a suggested $3 donation.
