Junior Readers Book Club
Join the Junior Readers Book Club for a Pilow Fight! We will meet on Monday, October 20 at 7:00. There will be a book discussion as well as a game and snack! The book club is for ages 7-9 and registration starts on Monday, September 22. Books will be available at the Circulation Desk when registering.
Toddler Storytime: “By the Light of the Moon”
There are spaces available for the Thursday morning sessions 10-10:30, October 16th thru November 20th. You and your child can cozy up with stories about animals, the moon and twinkling stars. These sessions are for children ages 2 to 3 years old with an adult. This program also includes music, games, creative movement and take-home crafts. Registration is currently taking place. You and your child will enjoy new stories blended with familiar favorites.
Drop In Storytime
The Drop-In Storytimes continue this month for independent listeners ages 3-5. We will share a variety of stories and fun activities on Tuesday mornings from 10-10:30. No registration is required.
Author Lori Nelson Spielman to Visit Library
Our Briggs Reads! Finale will take place on Tuesday evening, September 16 at 7:00, when local author Lori Nelson Spielman visits the library! Ms. Spielman will discuss the inspiration for her novel, “The Life List,” as well as perform a short reading, and even give audience members a chance to start thinking about their own life lists. She will also be available to answer questions and sign books for those who are interested. This free program is open to the public with no registration required.
If you would like the chance to discuss the book further, the Bookaholics book clubs have chosen “The Life List” as their September selection, and will be meeting on Thursday, September 18 at noon at the library and at Bruno’s Bar at 7:30 pm.
Briggsflix
If you have ever wanted to see a documentary about competitive gaming, this is your chance. The September selection of the Briggsflix Movie Club is “King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters,” the story of one man’s attempt to break the World Record high score in the classic arcade game Donkey Kong. This free movie will show Tuesday, September 23 at 6:30. Rated PG-13, 79 minutes.
