Clinton County attorney Shannon Schlegel has announced the recent endorsement from Riley Township Trustee Trish Martens in her candidacy for Judge of 65A District Court in Clinton County.
“I am endorsing Shannon Schlegel for the 65A District Judge seat. She is passionate about her community because You matter!” stated Riley Township Trustee Trish Martens.
Schlegel has owned her private practice law firm for over 12 years. For the last 10 years, her office has been in DeWitt. Schlegel has represented clients for every type of case that is handled in District Court; both civil and criminal. Her clients have included Plaintiffs and Defendants, and have ranged from individuals to government, and local businesses. Her law practice has served clients in Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Ionia, Livingston, Shiawassee and Wayne Counties. Areas of practice include Appellate, Child Welfare, Contract/Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Estate Planning, Family Law and Small Business.

Community and public service is not something new for Shannon Schlegel as she is very involved with local government, legal associations, and civic groups. She currently Chairs the Clinton County Planning Commission, is an active member of the St. Johns Kiwanis, and is President of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce.
Public Act 23 of 2013 preserved a 65A District Court judgeship that was slated for elimination in state law, which created the vacancy on the bench in Clinton County
