Tradition is the essence of the holiday period and what is more traditional than a poinsettia plant at Christmas time? Sporting such names as Winter Rose, Jingle Bells and Christmas Cactus . . . Christmas Cactus?
That’s right, Christmas Cactus is a new variety added to this year’s holiday flower sale sponsored by Sparrow Clinton Hospital Auxiliary. It is an exciting genus of poinsettia plants that further complements the other varieties long known to enhance the aura of the holidays. A half dozen selections are being offered with prices – reliant upon plant size and packages – ranging from $6.00 to $30.00.

As with other current projects underway, proceeds from this effort will be directed toward the Auxiliary’s pledge of $100,000.00 in support of the new emergency wing of Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns. Already the group is nearing the half way point of its commitment and, according to co-presidents Mss. Baker and Redman, the pay-off is well ahead of schedule.
