Terry Lee Dubendorf
dubendorf_terryTerry Lee Dubendorf of St. Johns died Monday, December 1, 2014 at the age of 48. Born February 7, 1966 to Terrence and Peggy (Schieding) Dubendorf, Terry served in the US Army and worked as a security guard. He was a loving father and will always be remembered for his gift of making people laugh.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Jeanette Dubendorf; children, Monica (16), Derrek (12) and Trevor (10) Dubendorf; mother, Peggy Schieding; sisters, Rhonda Haubert and Tonya Dubendorf; brothers, Chad and Clint Dubendorf; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Terrence Dubendorf.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns with his uncle Pastor Denny Dubendorf officiating. Military services will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Terry’s children c/o Jeanette Dubendorf.

Marlynn Roy Thornton
thornton_marlynnMarlynn Roy “Mert” Thornton, age 76, of Elsie, MI passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at Sparrow Health in Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Burton Community United Methodist Church, 510 N. Baldwin Road, Owosso, MI, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. with a luncheon to follow.
Marlynn was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 3, 1938, the son of Earl R. and Cereta A. (Devries) Thornton. He graduated from Elsie High School, and he had served in the U.S. Army. Mert was a lifelong resident of Elsie, and retired from Federal Mogul in St. Johns in 2000. He loved nature, camping, and hunting. Mert was a history buff. He was a very generous man who loved to help others, and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his 5 children; Carl and Annette Thornton of Elsie, MI, Mark Thornton of Ovid, MI, Lynnsue and Craig Jolley of New York, Shannon and Steven Loomis of Ovid, MI, Joshua and Lexi Thornton of Oregon, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Roland and Ruth Thornton of Lake, MI, Keith and Patsy Thornton of Sturgis, MI, and sister Laura and Jim White of Benson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, son in law James Dennison, and his close friend Betty Dankert.

Bonnie Rae Myers
myers_bonnieBonnie Rae (Eisler) Myers, age 53, passed away on November 29, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1961, in Lansing, the daughter of Raymond and Donna (Harvey) Eisler. Bonnie was employed by the City of St. Johns for 14 years as an Administrative Assistant. Bonnie was a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul, Safe Kids and at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, and supported many other community organizations and events.
She is survived by her children, Kyle (Erin) Myers of Kalamazoo, Sara Myers of St. Johns and Bret Myers of Coeur d’Alene, ID, her mother, Donna Eisler, brother, Joseph Eisler, father and mother in law, Ross (Sharon) Myers, brother in law, Grant (Leslie) Myers, sisters in law, Robin (Mark) Ingalls, Holly (David) Beveridge and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Eisler, mother in law, Catherine Myers, two uncles and three aunts.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Thursday, December 4, 2014, with a scripture service at 7 p.m., at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns.
