I headed to SJHS on Friday evening to cover the event that the St. Johns Student Council was holding for Relay For Life. This was held in conjunction with the Varsity Basketball Game.
I was greeted by Jennifer Eaton and Brock Petrak at the t-shirt booth. A bake sale also was being held along with a 50/50 raffle all being donated to Relay For Life. The t-shirts have the motto “Together we will fight, together we will win, 1-23-15.”
The student council holds an event like this every year with donations going to a different charity each year. The members work very hard on this as well as any other projects they undertake. The Adviser for this group is Kari Simon-Pieters who works alongside the group and just as hard.
It’s amazing how the students put so much work and energy in their projects and then have time to keep up with their studies. I have been covering the different clubs at the school for 2 years, and everyone has been so energetic and they all have a passion in everything they do.
I am always thankful that I can meet all of these students, and I have a lot of fond memories of all who I have met. Keep up the great job members and I will indeed be seeing you again.
