Edgar A. Thelen
thelen_edgarEdgar A. Thelen, age 83, died on March 11, 2015. He was born on November 13, 1931 in Clinton County, the son of Isidor and Susanna (Spitzley) Thelen. Edgar married Mary Ann Smith on October 5, 1968 and she survives him.
Also surviving are David I. (Leda) Thelen, Vernon (Bonnie) Thelen, Ann (Steve) Schafer, Lorraine (Duane) Piggott, Edgar D. (Susan) Thelen, Julie (Don) Simon, Christoper V. Thelen; twenty grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Margie) Thelen; sisters-in-law Ella Thelen, Mary Louise (Leslie) Leather, Sally Thelen and many additional sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joan M. Thelen, son Neil R. Thelen and three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12 from 7–9pm with a Rosary at 8pm and Friday, March 13 from 2–4pm and 7–9pm with a Rosary at 3pm and Scripture Service at 8pm at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler. Memorial donations may be made to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.
The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.


Terry D. Miller
miller_terryTerry Miller’s heroic battle with cancer came to an end on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the age of 48. Terry was born June 1, 1966 in Carson City, MI, was a graduate of Fowler High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns.
Terry was a proud and loving husband and father to wife, Joan (Pawlowski); daughters, Nicole and Kerri; and son, Eric Hufnagel. Terry loved to spend time with his family; he especially loved watching his daughters play basketball. Terry was part owner of Miller Brother’s Excavating, formerly known as Les Miller and Sons Sand and Gravel, a company that was started by his parents, Lester and Juliann, both who preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
During his difficult battle Terry received compassionate, loving care from the caregivers at Sparrow Clinton Hospital’s Cancer Center. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Center at Sparrow Clinton Hospital P.O. Box 260 St. Johns, MI 48879.


Marie Wieber
wieber_marieOn February 21, 2015 Marie Wieber, loving mother, sister, and friend, left us after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 15, 1947, in St. Johns, MI, to Arnold and Dorothy Wieber of Pewamo. She graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School in 1965, and earned a business degree from Michigan State University in 1973. The blue skies and mountains of Colorado called Marie to spend the next 40 years as a self-employed CPA in Denver. Marie especially enjoyed traveling, hiking in the mountains, taking pictures, spending time with family and friends, and most of all, sharing her life and love with her daughter, Elly.
Surviving are her daughter, Elly; brothers and sisters, Phyllis Simon, John (Cheryl) Wieber, Bernita (Larry) Schafer, Lu (Ron) Smith, Jan (Hank) Klein, Gladys (Denny) Simon, Arlene (Ashley) Jones, Doris (John) Cook, Theresa (Gene) Pohl, Elaine Larson, Bruce (Judy) Wieber, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arnold and Dorothy Wieber, brother-in-law, Ron (Butch) Simon, and niece, Sarah Jones.
Marie will be missed by everyone who knew her, from her family and friends in Pewamo to her friends in Denver. The Wieber family would especially like to thank Marie’s wonderful friends in Denver for their gracious support of her during this time, arranging the Denver memorial service, providing food, and generous volunteering of time to drive the Wiebers to and from the airport.
The family will receive friends on March 23, 2015, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 pm with Deacon Chuck Thelen officiating at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia , Fowler, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a college fund for her daughter, Elly.


Mildred M. Wolfe
wolfe_mildredMildred M. Wolfe of Ovid died on Saturday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 91. Mildred was born on April 26, 1923 in Perrinton, MI the daughter of K.C. and Beulah (Richards) Hunt. She graduated from Ovid High School in 1941 and on June 1, 1941 she married Robert Wolfe in Ovid. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Maurice) Woodworth, Sally (Gary) Newcomb, Virginia Stambersky and Betty (Eric) White.
9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister Mrs. Doris Kibby and brother Russell Hunt. She was preceded by brother Richard Hunt.
Memorials may be given in Mildred’s honor to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3100 West Rd #203, East Lansing, MI 48823. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI.
