Dolores Helen Clark
clark_doloresDolores Helen Clark of St. Johns, MI and formerly of Elmore, OH, passed away April 13, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born August 18, 1927, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Josephine and Stephen Chulick. On September 4, 1954 she married Edward C. Clark and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2013.
Dolores worked for Kelly Girls upon completion of secretarial training and then the railroad as an executive secretary. Dolores loved to travel using her railroad pass, a benefit with the railroad for free travel. Dolores reentered the workforce after raising their son. Dolores was the chief Children’s Librarian at Wood County Public Library where she started a Children’s Story Hour where she created and made characters to support the stories she read to the children she dearly loved. She made stories come alive for hundreds of children for nearly twenty years.
Dolores loved crafting, knitting, sewing, game shows and playing golf. She was a founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge, OH where Ed and Dolores were active, contributing members. They were key fundraisers and avid volunteers in the construction of both the church and school; their son Daniel was in the first 97 children enrolled on September 7, 1965 entering 4th grade and in the first graduation class in 1970.
Surviving are her son, Daniel (Margherita Procaccini) Clark of St. Johns, MI; step-daughter, Genell (Don) Santoni of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Melissa (Josh) Drossel; great grandson Nathan; brother, Joey Voetter; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, OH 43465 or Cardinal Family Fund (Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School-St. Kateri Catholic Academy), 3225 Pickle Road, Oregon, OH 43616. There will be a private Memorial Service for Dolores at a later date.
The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.


Helen R. Devereaux
devereaux_helenHelen R. Devereaux, age 86 of Lansing, MI. formerly of DeWitt and St. Johns died peacefully Thursday March 26, 2015 in Lansing, MI. Helen was born May 2, 1928 in Paragould, Arkansas the daughter of William and Nola (Boling) Tarrant. She was a school bus driver for over 16 years, as well as a book keeper for Myrl Pierce Fuel Service of DeWitt. On June 30, 1979 she married Robert “Bert” Devereaux in Lansing. She was a member of Holmes Road Church of Christ and enjoyed sewing activities with the women of the church. Helen enjoyed gardening especially tending to her flowers. Helen’s family was important to her and she treasured time with her husband, brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was devout in her religion and active in the church, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, word search puzzles, putting puzzles together and playing cards.
Surviving is her daughter, Delaine Pierpoint of Lansing and her son Myrl (Linda) Pierce of Lansing; step sons Robert(Beaty) Devereaux of St. Johns, Chris (fiancé Lori) Devereaux of Maple Rapids, and Todd (Lorie) Devereaux of St. Johns, step daughter Jayne (Jim) French of St. Johns, step sons in law John Bottum of Maple Rapids and Gordon Harris of St. Johns, step daughter in law Brenda Devereaux of St. Johns; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, sisters Virblee Collingsworth, Sandra “Kay” Root, sisters in law Sandy Tarrant, Louise Tarrant and Janet Tarrant; brothers Duane Tarrant, Ralph (Rita) Tarrant, and Berry (Elaine) Tarrant. She was preceded in death by her husband Bert in 2008, step daughters Sharon Bottum and Linda Harris, step son Gary Devereaux; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and brothers Cloise “Bill”, Edward, Glenn and Jerry Tarrant, sisters Georgia Tarrant and Mozell Huxtable.
Funeral services will be held at Holmes Road Church of Christ on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Zachary Pope and Rev. Marty Tarrant officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holmes Road Church of Christ in Memory of Helen.


Sara Jane Thornburg
thornburg_saraOn April 11, 2015 Sara Jane Thornburg joined her parents, John and Mary Jacobs, daughter, Lisa and countless family and friends that have gone before her.
Sara was born on July 18, 1946 and graduated from Owosso High School. She retired from Motor Wheel and Quest Software. She was a loyal Spartan fan, loved spending time with friends, reading books from the Ovid Public Library and watching TV. Sara will be remembered in numerous ways but for many it was the endless hours she spent in the kitchen trying new recipes and preparing the old favorites. Friends and family never knew when she would show up with something wonderful to taste.
Sara was a loving mother and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Sara is survived by two daughters, Amy (Dave) Fowler and Traci (Ron) Prewitt, grandchildren Lisa, Christopher and Morgan Fowler and Justin, Abigail and John Prewitt. Sara is also survived by her brother, David (Jan) Jacobs and an extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Sara’s life will be held on April 15, 2015 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns at 6:00 P.M. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday, 3-6 P.M. A dessert reception will be held at the funeral home following the service.
At Sara’s Request Please Wear MSU Attire.
Memorials may be made to the Ovid Public Library.


Richard Lee Barrett, Jr.
Richard Lee Barrett, Jr. passed away on April 11, 2015 peacefully at home at the age of 81.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
