With Mrs. Truitt

Prologue
Heading to SJHS on a tip, camera ready, I decided to check out the scoop I had received. Finding the right room, I entered to a buzz of students awaiting the class to start.
The Book Club is a new club this year started by teacher, Mrs. Truitt. She explained that the purpose of this group was to get students into reading books. They have one month to complete the book and then meet to discuss their thoughts, ask questions, and tell whether or not they liked the book.
Some students ask Mrs. Truitt questions about a thought they had and maybe some explanation. Everyone reads the same book, and they receive them from the school library. This is not a required class so if a student is unable to attend it is all right. This is done on seminar time which back in my day was study hall. Over 40 students had attended.
Mrs. Truitt selects books for the next session, and the students come to an agreement on which one it will be; then it repeats itself and meet in one month.
Mrs. Truitt says that the students are excited and come in enthusiastic, and I could tell that by their reactions.
The end of this story is great as the students come in loaded with snacks of any kind and size which they all share with each other, just my kind of ending!
Thank you Mrs Truitt and students for allowing me to sit in on your session.
