Movies Galore
When two musicians (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon) witness a mob hit, they flee the state in an all-female band disguised as women, but the situation really gets complicated when both men fall in love with the group’s lead singer (Marilyn Monroe). The classic comedy Some Like it Hot is our final Monday Matinee for the summer, and will screen Monday, August 17 at 1:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Bookaholics
The August selection of the Bookaholics Book Club is Turnabout by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Melly and Anny Beth have lived long and full lives. But when offered the chance to be young again by participating in the top-secret Project Turnabout, they agree. They receive injections that make them grow younger, but something goes wrong, and the reversal can’t be halted. As the years roll on, the women have “unaged” back into teenagers, and they realize they will soon be too young to take care of themselves. Copies of the book are now available, and the clubs meet Thursday, August 20 at noon at the Library and at 7:30pm at Bruno’s Bar.
Library Closure
The Library will be closed on Saturday September 5th and Monday September 7th for the Labor Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.
