In just five short months
In just five short months the St. Johns Mint Festival will be upon us. The fun filled family festival is scheduled for August 14-16, 2015 and most activities will take place on the grounds of the St. Johns City Park and Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Planning for the festival takes a lot of volunteers and the committee has several openings they must fill very soon. There are chair or co-chair positions open on the following committees: Pageant, Entertainment, Mint Office, Senior Citizens Day, Kids Day, Food and Ice Cream. While all of these committees are very important, it is crucial that someone is found for the Pageant Committee very quickly or that event may not be able to take place this year.
Applications are now available for several events of the festival such as Arts and Crafts, Flea Market, Non-Profit and Commercial. Also, special applications are currently being accepted for:
The 2015 Mint Festival Scholarship: Any high school senior that is pursuing a career in business is eligible to apply.
The Mint Festival Pageant: Assuming a chair is found for this event, the pageant will take place on Tuesday, August 11. While the pageant is not until then many things such as information meetings, community service project, practices and rehearsals take place as early as April and May.
T-Shirt Logo Ideas: The festival is once again holding a contest to determine the designs on their Souvenir T-shirt and the T-shirt worn by all the volunteers.
All of the above applications are available on the Chamber website at www.clintoncountychamber.org/mint, or you can call the Chamber at 989-224-7248 or email them at ccchamber@4wbi.net to get any of the applications.
