North Clinton Avenue revisited
While he was preparing this week’s feature A Look Back, Barry discovered that the addresses on North Clinton that we published last week were somehow askew.
A quick look showed that he was right. Oliver Montague’s building, the one Barry featured this week, was listed as a couple of numbers north of its present location.
Upon reflection we are still convinced that database software is a wonderful thing; but when things go wrong, they can go very wrong. The buildings listed as for example 211 1/2 N. Clinton do not sort out nicely. I don’t know whether 211.5 would have worked better, but it couldn’t have come out much worse.
So here is our updated list of businesses and homes that were located on North Clinton in 1950.
