Joyce Irmalee Thrush
Joyce Irmalee Thrush age 87 of Greenville passed away Wednesday June 24, 2015 at her home.
She was born in St. Johns MI January 19, 1928 the daughter of Ford and Irma (Bishop) Kuhns. Joyce married John M. Thrush on October 23, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in St. Johns. She was active as a church volunteer in the Methodist Churches in St. Johns and Greenville, MI, was a Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout Leader in St. Johns and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Johns. Many years ago she worked at the former Pierce’s Bakery. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening and the Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, John M. Thrush of Greenville, their children; Jon (Gerda) Thrush of St. Johns, Janie (Greg) Willaman and Jill (Jim) Coleman both of Greenville, grandchildren, Melissa (Christopher) Stanton, Andrew (Brenda) Barger, Jason (Lauren ) Thrush, Ryan Thrush, Dan (Chantel) Barger, Brad Willaman, Corey Kruger, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Hankey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home Greenville with Rev. Ken Harger officiating. Burial will be in Sowle Cemetery, St. Johns MI. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to service time at 11.
William Cecil Wooley
William Cecil Wooley, age 60, of Elsie, MI passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 in Elsie, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Mona Kindle officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
William was born in St. Johns, Michigan on March 16, 1955, the son of Robert Douglas and Dorine Jeanette (Heisser) Wooley. William graduated from Ovid – Elsie High School with the class of 1973. William worked for Wadell Farms in Elsie, Michigan. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Detroit Lions Fan. He resided all of his life in the Elsie area.
He is survived by his son Christopher Wooley, 2 brothers; Douglas and Carol Wooley, and Robin and Karen Wooley, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Nancy Wooley. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Terry.

Peter Julius Kurncz, IV
Peter Julius Kurncz, IV, age 6, of St. Johns, Michigan passed away peacefully in his parents arms with family and friends by their side on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church St. Johns, MI on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 12:00 P.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. and on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, MI. A Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Peter was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 8, 2009, the son of Peter Julius and Stacey Leigh (Horman) Kurncz III. Peter resided all of his life in St. Johns. He enjoyed playing with his brother and sister, doing arts and crafts, and going fishing and hunting. Peter liked to play with his friends, making cookies, and going to the farm and helping his dad and grandpa. Peter would wake up every morning and look out the window and say ” It’s a sunny day”.
He is survived by his parents Peter Julius and Stacey Kurncz III, his brother Brody Kurncz, sister Kooper Kurncz, grandparents; Peter and Lisa Kurncz Jr., Bill and Cindy Horman, great grandparents; Marian Kurncz, Juanita Horman, and his girlfriend Ashlyn Fabus. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his great grandparents; Peter Kurncz, Charles Horman, Larry and Yvonne Rogers, and Marie Haruska.

Frank J. Bailey
Frank J. Bailey died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the age of 93. He was born June 3, 1922 in Ionia, MI the son of Joseph and Vivia (Worthy) Bailey. Frank was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Nazarene Church and a retired Motor Wheel employee. On October 24, 1947 he married Ruth Holcomb and she preceded him in death in 1998.
Surviving is a son, Ralph (Jennifer) Bailey; one grandson Jeff Bailey all of St. Johns; one sister, Olga Dann of Mancelona. He was also predeceased by a son, LaVerne and Frank’s twin sister, Frances Bailey.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns with Pastor Tim Diller officiating. Military honors will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 4:00 an d 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the funeral home.
Robert James Wilcox
Robert James Wilcox, age 86, of Ovid, MI died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at Shepardsville United Methodist Church, 6990 Winfield Road, Ovid, Michigan 48866 on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. There will be visitation held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
Robert was born in Hastings, Michigan on January 3, 1929, the son of Earl and Bernice Wilcox. He married Margie Wilcox on November 29, 1952 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Bob farmed a centennial farm in Hastings, MI and moved to Ovid, MI in 1957 and became a dairy farmer. He was a seed corn dealer and enjoyed buying and selling antiques. Bob was an outgoing and happy individual. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughters; Colleen and Patricia, son Kevin, son in law Mark, daughter in law Jenny, 5 grandchildren; Michael, Bridgette, Wyatt, Norah and John. He was preceded in death by his wife Margie and brother Keith Wilcox.
