Theodore R. Good, Gary W. Sadler, Lyle M. Floate

Theodore R. Good

Theodore R. Good, 83 of Ludington died May 31, 2015 at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Ted was born January 25, 1932 in Owosso, Michigan the son of late Gerald and Ruth (Purvis) Good. He attended St. Johns Schools and was a member of the 1949 undefeated football team which was later inducted into the Greater Lansing Area Hall of Fame.

Ted served his country in the Air Force for four years and was assigned to the Air Police. He has since been a member of the American Legion. He was employed at John Bean for a number of years, from 1966-1990 as a drafting/designing engineer for Federal Mogul Corporation.

Ted and Katie owned and operated Lakeview Cottages in Ludington for 7 years. Besides hunting and fishing, Ted enjoyed spending time with family and friends, daily crossword puzzles, playing card, reading, and trips to the casino.

Surviving are his wife, Katie of 32 years, daughter; Makayla (Paul) Vitows of Traverse City, son; Gerald Good of Chicago, Bruce (Barb) Pung of Morrice; Chris Pung and Melissa Smith of DeWitt; Dave (Louise) Pung of Portland; Roger Pung and Lisa Spitzley of Portland; Debbie (John) Sever of Portland, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Karber of St. Johns.

A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns, MI. Memorial Contributions to St. Jude Children Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Gary W. Sadler

Gary W. Sadler, age 70, of St. Johns, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his home, with his family at his side. Gary was born May 26, 1945 in Alma, the son of Warren and Margaret (Crocker) Sadler. He married Wendy Gregg on September 26, 1970. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Thailand. He worked for Saylor-Beal in St. Johns. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Cribbage and Solitaire.

Gary is survived by his wife, Wendy; his children, Rhonda (Frederick) Crafard of White Cloud and Shayne (Crystal) Sadler of St. Johns; his grandchildren Allen Williams, Frederick II, and Nicholass, all of White Cloud, and David (Rachel) Flewelling, Jr., Kaylee, and Jason Sadler, all of St. Johns; his great grandchildren,Lilly-Ann Lumbert and Alden Flewelling of St. Johns; and his brothers and sisters, Roger (Jo) Sadler of Harrison, Fran (Don) Hagarman of Evart, Sharon Kaye Feichtenbiner, and Joann Spears. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Margaret; his step mother, Mary; and his brother, Jimmy Marble.

There will be a bar-b-que, bon fire, come as you are, reception on July 18, from 3 p.m. until evening at 3883 County Farm Road in St. Johns. Memorial contributions may be made to Area 28 Special Olympics. The family is being served by the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.


Lyle M. Floate

floate_lyleLyle M. Floate of Greenville and formerly of Maple Rapids, MI died July 10, 2015 at the age of 77. Born July 12, 1937 to Clare and Maxine (Smith) Floate, Lyle served in the US Air Force and worked as a Production Controller at Federal Mogul. He married Marjorie Hylbak Floate on December 14, 1958 in Fremont, NE and she survives him.

Also surviving are his children; Michelle (Jeff) Roepke of East Lansing, MI and Timothy (Diane) Floate of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Kendra (Ryan) Radcliff, Cody, Jantzen and Gabrielle Floate; sister, Liane Tyler; sister-in-law, Birdie Floate; and many nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Floate; infant sister, Dorothy Floate; and brother-in-law, Carroll Tyler.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the First Congregational Church – Greenville, MI with Rev. Ian Macdonald officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Osgood Funeral Homes, 104 E. Cass, St. Johns. Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 126 E. Cass St., Greenville, MI 48838 in Lyle’s name.
