Donna M. Romig
Donna M. Romig passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born February 19, 1931 in Farmington City, MI the daughter of Sidney and Nellie (McGregory) Christmas and graduated from Pontiac Senior High School in Pontiac, MI. On June 10, 1950 she married John Arthur “Art” Romig and they celebrated 65 years together this past June. As Art’s job took him to various locations, she was a member and involved with several different churches, First Baptist and Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Blanc, MI; Rives Baptist Church in Rives Junction, MI; First Baptist Church of St. Johns, MI; Calvary Baptist Church in South Bend, IN; First Baptist Church in Higgins Lake, MI; and most recently Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring, FL.
Surviving is her husband, Art, three daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Garlock of Wilmington, OH, Marilyn (Roy) Elliott of Byron Center, MI, Shelly (Tom) Sturgeon of Ada, MI; one son, Brian (Shelly) Romig of Keller TX; daughter-in-law, Judy Romig of Midland, MI; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Bev Hurni of Holt, MI. She was preceded in death by a son Charles Romig and a brother, Ken Christmas.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns with Pastor Tom Garlock officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. The family will receive relatives and friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. John N. Bates
John N. Bates passed away September 15, 2015, at the age of 79, surrounded by family. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 6, 1936, the son of Willard and Mildred (Keyes) Bates. He married Sharon Lancour on September 3, 1960 in Trenary, Michigan. John worked for 30 years as a carpenter for the Lansing School District.
John is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Timothy (Jennifer) of Winston-Salem, NC and Thomas (Cynthia) of St. Johns; grandchildren Tim, Jr, Ryan, Mike and Dan Bates, Chris and Whitney Wilson, Tyler and Lauren Bates; sister, Lynne Parks; brothers, Jerry, Kevin (Lily) and Randy Bates; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kim Bates.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 18 at Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, 330 South Maple Street, Maple Rapids, MI. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express a very special thank you to all of the caring staff at The Laurels of Fulton. They went above and beyond what was expected and treated John like family. Robert Lee Andrews, Jr.
Robert Lee Andrews, Jr., age 60, of Saint Johns, died Sunday September 13, 2015 at Sparrow hospital in Lansing after a long hard fought battle with cancer. Lee, as he was known by with family and friends, was born in Carson City on March 25, 1955, the son of Robert and Margie Andrews. He graduated from Ithaca High School in 1973, and went on to graduate with honors from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
He met his beloved wife, Mary-Ellen Breasbois, of Merril l and they were married in 1976. Mary passed earlier this year on May 5th after many years of battling cancer. Lee and Mary had two sons, Adam and Wayne, who were their entire world. He coached his sons in wrestling all while they were growing up, and always made time to attend all of their sporting events.
Bob, as he was better known by to most of his business associates, was an extremely hard working and successful business owner of over 25 years. He started Andrews Materials Testing Services, a construction materials testing company, back in 1989, and continued to work hard at the success of his company right up till his passing. He was a self made, hard working man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. Though he spent much of his time with his family and at work, he always made time for two of his favorite hobbies, deer hunting and fishing, which he continued to enjoy with his sons as they got older.
Lee is survived by his two boys, Adam Andrews and Wayne (Stacey) Andrews, brother John Andrews, sister Scharie (Paul) Mallory, and sister Paulette (Mark) Berry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary whom he cherished.
Funeral services will be held at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca at 12 pm on Friday, September 18th, 2015. Father Andrzej Boroch will be officiating the funeral services with interment to follow at the Essex Township Cemetery. Visitations will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 17th at Barden’s. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Lee Andrews, Jr. Living Trust.
Robert D. Rademacher
Robert D. Rademacher, 72 of Hubbardston, MI died on Saturday, September 12, 2015 as the result of an auto accident in Shiawassee County. Robert was born on July 1, 1943 in St. Johns, MI. the son of Herman and Pauline (Fraker) Rademacher. On February 2, 1963 he married Virginia Gleason in Shepardsville, MI. He owned and operated B & T Auto Salvage Yard in Hubbardston, MI for many years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Vincent (Maureen Lovejoy) Rademacher of Hubbardston, Thomas (Nina) Rademacher of Pewamo, MI; Gary and Janice (John Hall) Rademacher both of Hubbardston; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive. Robert was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
At his request there will be no services. Arrangements were entrusted to Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI.
Theodore Dault
Theodore Dault died peacefully September 4, 2015, age 88. He was a former Muskegon resident, moved to St. Johns.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18th at Noon at Mount Rest Cemetery, 706 E. Steel St., St. Johns followed by refreshments at Ryan’s Roadhouse.
