First CASA Volunteers sworn in
The Voice for Clinton County’s Children held a Swearing In ceremony for Clinton County’s first CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Volunteers.
Recently CASA Volunteer Advocates completed pre and post interviews, a thorough background check, and 30 hours of pre-service training including court observations. Pictured here are Clinton County’s first CASA Volunteer Advocates being Sworn In by the Honorable Lisa Sullivan.
CASA services have been in the United States since the 1970s. In 2013 Clinton County received National CASA Association program approval.
CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to work with children involved in court proceedings due to abuse or neglect. There are currently approximately 60 children in out of home placements in Clinton County.
