The DeWitt Ox Roast:One more local festival helps us say farewell to summer

Heading out to find the Ox Burger, I arrived in Dewitt on Friday afternoon. It was great weather for an outing, so decided this was the day.
The festival opened at 3 pm that day, so I had no trouble getting a lot of photos as rides were going and people were about doing shopping, visiting or eating ice cream.
I watched the little ones riding the rides for their size and enjoyed that. I went into Sweetie-licious to scout out all the baked goods and found the perfect cookie, just to tie me over.
Dewitt is a smaller town that really knows how to put on their festival, and everyone is friendly. The event is right downtown on main street so everything is right at your fingertips.
One last thing I will mention is that I was asked by a lady from Channel 10 news if I would speak to Andy Provenzano, the weatherman, and I did so. I figured this was my shot at fame and had a pleasant conversation with him all the while we were being filmed for their segment for a TV slot. I don’t know when this will air; and if I did it would be top secret.
As for the Ox Burger, they didn’t start serving till 6 pm so I missed that, but there is always next year.
