\nA local Country music favorite is joined by equally talented musicians when Louie Longoria and Jagwire Country take the stage June 23 for the weekly Concert in the Park series at the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell.
\nThere is no admission charge for the toe-tapping, foot-stomping concert that begins at 7 p.m.

\nLongoria opened for Tommy Cash during his Michigan tour in 2002, and had the honor of singing “Six White Horses” with Cash in 2006. Longoria’s new CD release, Riding My Thumb to Mexico, joins a set of earlier CDs, Wide Open Country and Tribute to Two Legends.
\nHis relaxed humor and fine singing style blends well with Jagwire Country. The assembly of skilled Country artists include Danny Hullihen\u00a0on steel guitar, who played with Little Jimmie Dickens and Jeannie Pruetts\u00a0for many years, and Jaxie Hartman who plays bass\u00a0and was Dottie West’s personal\u00a0secretary.\u00a0
\nDell Shorts on lead guitar and drummer Randy Wooley are well-known in northern Michigan, having played for many years. Shorts has backed up Nashville stars like Sawyer Brown, Crystal Gayle, Hank Thompson, and Tim McGraw to name a few.
\nCombining the harmonies of Jagwire Country with Longoria’s vocals creates a sound that takes listeners back to “yesterday’s Country” – as well as “new Country” with a few other surprises.
\nConcert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the city of St. Johns, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
\nConcerts are held each Wednesday evening, beginning at 7 p.m., in the beautiful outdoor concert venue at the St. Johns City Park. The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand each week that offers light refreshments. All concerts are held rain or shine.
