{"id":16855,"date":"2010-07-15T20:49:29","date_gmt":"2010-07-16T00:49:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=16855"},"modified":"2010-07-15T20:49:29","modified_gmt":"2010-07-16T00:49:29","slug":"chicks-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/chicks-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Auxiliary hosts successful Chicks for Charity Golf Outing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src='http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/10july\/chicksth.jpg' alt='image.jpg' class='ngg-singlepic ngg-left' \/>With a good slate of golfers and a list of sponsors<!--more--> as long as the course, Sparrow Clinton Auxiliary seemed to be the victor of the recent \u201cChicks for Charity\u201d all women golf outing.\u00a0 While three teams tied for top honors, members of the hospital Auxiliary were the day\u2019s acknowledged winners, walking off the course with a bank deposit bag crammed with cash and a promise for strengthening their treasury in support of the hospital.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe top teams scrambled for a total of 70 strokes and the final standings were determined by the group that scored best on the Emerald\u2019s par three holes.\u00a0 The final standings found Mohre Soft Water in first place, Fifth Third in second followed by the team from Ovid Weekly. \u00a0The Barber\u2019s Floors and More group was next in line with a 72.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKathie Clock, Auxiliary co-president, summed up the day by expressing appreciation for the weather, the players, the sponsors and staff at the Emerald.\u00a0 \u201cIt would be difficult to expect a nicer golfing day,\u201d commented Ms Clock, \u201cand that matched with our tenacious \u201cchicks\u201d, generous sponsors and cooperative Emerald staff, made for another wonderful event.\u00a0 I can only think of one other thing that might have added excitement, that being a hole in one that would have given the player $5,000.\u201d\u00a0 That prize was sponsored by Allaby and Brewbaker Insurance Agency.<br \/>\n Three teams tied for top spot during the recent \u201cChicks for Charity\u201d golf outing at the Emerald.<br \/>\n<img src='http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/10july\/mohr.jpg' alt='image.jpg' class='ngg-singlepic ngg-center' \/><br \/>\n<em>For Mohre Soft Water: Monica Vasquez, Marie Mohre, Amber Davis and Brenda Bailey.<\/em><br \/>\n<img src='http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/10july\/ovid.jpg' alt='image.jpg' class='ngg-singlepic ngg-center' \/><br \/>\n<em>Ovid Weekly: Brenda Quine, Jill Greenhoe, Deb Price and Mary Perrien<\/em><br \/>\n<img src='http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/10july\/53.jpg' alt='image.jpg' class='ngg-singlepic ngg-center' \/><br \/>\n<em>Fifth Third Bank: Diane Zuker, Mary Jo Wirth, Brenda Ondrus and Annette Devereaux<\/em><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOff the course, a number of other gifts and surprises added to the day.\u00a0 Among them was a visor provided to each player contributed by a former St. Johns resident from Colorado, John Bond, and a host of prizes by raffle, a staple golf outing feature.\u00a0 One half a 50\/50 raffle went to another former St. Johns resident Sally Hayne, one of the members of the Durner sisters team.\u00a0 Firstbank hosted a continental breakfast and McKenzie Crosby Insurance Agency sponsored and end of day buffet.\u00a0 In between, Agro-Culture Liquid Fertilizer and a Wal-Mart employee grant teamed up to offer lunch at the turn.\u00a0 And, the 26 hole sponsors were identified on signs prepared and donated by Bruce Delong of Michigan Graphics and Signs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe hole signs, planted at tee locations around the course recognized the following contributors:\u00a0 Avery Vision Center, Golden EFX Salon, Ovid-Elsie Animal Clinic, Bee\u2019s Sports, Fifth-Third Bank, Sirrine &#038; Assoc.
