{"id":17150,"date":"2010-07-29T20:45:36","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T00:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=17150"},"modified":"2010-07-29T20:45:36","modified_gmt":"2010-07-30T00:45:36","slug":"mint-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/mint-35\/","title":{"rendered":"Time running out for Kiwanis Tennis Registrations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019ve heard it hundreds of times, but it really does fly . . . time, that is<!--more--> and the span between now and August 4 will pick up the pace.\u00a0 That\u2019s the final date for registrations in the 2010 Kiwanis Mint Fest Tennis Tournament.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019ll have a strong turnout,\u201d explained chairman Chris Bouck, \u201cbut we do have a few openings in all divisions.\u00a0 If history prevails, we\u2019ll have a rash of applications in the next week or so.\u201d<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s tournament will follow closely the structure of previous years over the span of the festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 13-15. Competition at all levels will take place at the high school tennis courts.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBouck explained that both singles and doubles competition will be held in a number of divisions including boys 12-14, 15-18; girls 12-14, 15-18 and men and women 19-34 and over 35.\u00a0 In doubles competition, the divisions are boys 12-14, 15-18, girls 12-14, 15-18; men and women 19 and over.\u00a0 A mixed doubles category will be held if sufficient entries are received.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCompetition is scheduled to begin Friday morning for all juniors followed in the afternoon for female doubles and male singles.\u00a0 On Saturday, male doubles, female singles and mixed doubles will be held. \u00a0 Doubles finish on Sunday will put a wrap on the tournament.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nEntry fees for the tournament are $20.00 for singles plus one can of new tennis balls.\u00a0 Doubles entry fee is $30 per team plus two cans of new tennis balls per team.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nRegistration must be completed by Wednesday Aug. 4, 2010 either on line at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.MMRN.org\/tennis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.MMRN.org\/tennis<\/a> or by securing forms in St. Johns at Briggs Public Library, Chamber of Commerce or at St. Johns Recreation Department.\u00a0 All forms, on line or pick up, should be returned to Bouck at 505 E.
