\nI finished the book, “Sweet and Sour,” and I\u2019m currently reading, “Common Nonsense,” both were written by Andy Rooney. No, my eyebrows aren\u2019t getting bushy.
\nAndy comes off like an ornery old fart who writes humorously, but he makes a lot of sense, at least to me. I thoroughly enjoy getting some laughs in print when everything else I read in the newspaper isn\u2019t funny.
\nHe predicted there would be a black President and he thought Colin Powell would do a good job. So did I and still do. Powell was in the public eye and we knew something about him. I guess you could say there was some transparency there. I think most people, white and black, admire him.
\nObama just dropped out of the sky with a questionable history. I\u2019ll never understand how he got elected. I think I know where he\u2019s going and I don\u2019t want to go with him.
\nI hope he isn\u2019t a “Manchurian Candidate.”
\nI haven\u2019t read anything written by Rooney that recently so I don\u2019t know how he feels about Obama. My guess is he doesn\u2019t like him. That may not mean much because it\u2019s also my guess that he wouldn\u2019t like me either.<\/p>\n

I wrote before that I wasn\u2019t an overthinker, even when I wrote that Andy Rooney was. I think I lied to you. Andy thinks about everything under the Sun. I do the same thing. I think about where God came from, or if the Earth is still tilting on its axis. I think about what happens to animals when they die, or if there\u2019s such a thing as an honest person in Washington D. C.
\nI also think about what\u2019s for dinner.<\/p>\n

We used to fly\/display the American flag on occasions such as the 4th of July and Veterans Day. It\u2019s not so occasional anymore, it\u2019s most of the time. Some might have a problem with the way we fly it but that doesn\u2019t matter. It may be out in the rain sometimes but I imagine it did that many times over the history of this country. Certain organizations are allowed to do that provided the flag is made out of an all-weather material (ours is). Ours may fly at night without lights but there\u2019s no doubt this has happened many times during the years we\u2019ve been at, and continue to be at war.
\nWe want to do things as individuals and not what some rules committee thinks we should do. We don\u2019t stand outside staring at it. It\u2019s just the feeling we get knowing it\u2019s there.
\nI know what the colors are suppose to mean but in these times I see that meaning changing.
\nRed represents anger because there\u2019s a lot of Americans that are angry with what\u2019s going on in this country.
\nWhite represents surrender, which is what this country is doing now. Our President has thrown up his hands over the breaching of our border with Mexico. Get over it he tells us, in so many words. You\u2019ll get use to the burden . . . after awhile.
\nHe wonders if the Illegals will show their gratitude by voting for the Democratic Party. He can secure the Democratic Party for years with the decisions he\u2019s making.
\nShouldn\u2019t he worry about the rest of us too?
\nHe\u2019s thrown his hands up on the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico that threatens our coastline and says, Oh well, in so many words. His actual statement, “Plug that damn well,” didn\u2019t really do us any good.
\nBy the way, the oil hasn\u2019t disappeared like they\u2019re suggesting, it\u2019s still there.
\nAnd finally, blue represents sadness, which is what we\u2019ll feel a lot of in less than ten years.<\/p>\n

The person I admire the most right now is the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer. She makes a lot of sense in the sea of dumb ideas. The rest of those Border States could take a lesson from her instead of harassing the state of Arizona. We\u2019re not in separate boats fellas; we\u2019re in one big boat together.
\nGo get \u2018em, Jan!
