{"id":17351,"date":"2010-08-05T20:58:16","date_gmt":"2010-08-06T00:58:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/2010\/08\/vote-2\/"},"modified":"2010-08-05T20:58:16","modified_gmt":"2010-08-06T00:58:16","slug":"vote-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/vote-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballot Recount Requested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a result of the one vote difference between Bruce DeLong and Paul McNamara<!--more--> for the Clinton County Commissioner District 3 position, a request for a recount was made Thursday by McNamara.<br \/>\n\u201cIn speaking with the County Clerk I was informed that there is not an automatic recount in close elections\u201d, he explained.  \u201cConsequently, it seemed most important that a recount be conducted to insure the will of the people is being carried out\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is no thought of any wrong-doing on anyone\u2019s part\u201d said McNamara.  \u201cIt is just the reasonable assumption that human error could have taken place which would have a definite impact on the outcome\u201d, he said.  \u201cThe will of the people needs to be followed and I am ready to accept the outcome of such a recount no matter who ends up winning.
