{"id":17908,"date":"2010-09-09T20:58:56","date_gmt":"2010-09-10T00:58:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=17908"},"modified":"2010-09-09T20:58:56","modified_gmt":"2010-09-10T00:58:56","slug":"kiwanis-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/kiwanis-35\/","title":{"rendered":"Area Non-Profit Aided by Kiwanis Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Clinton County foundation dedicated to assisting women, children<!--more--> and others encountering difficulties, recently had their commitment enhanced through a $500.00 grant from the St. Johns Kiwanis Club. \u00a0\u201cHealing Hearts with Horses,\u201d a non-profit foundation received the gift in support of its on-going program of supporting mentally and physically abused woman and children.\u00a0<br \/>\nKiwanians listened recently to details of the unique restorative approach to supporting mistreated or distressed groups as described by Foundation Exec. Vice Pres. Christine Smith.\u00a0 Her presentation included details of programs assisting not only persons having been harmed or afflicted, but also others with special needs such as Autism, Aspergers Syndrome or ADHD (attention disorder\/hyperactivity disorder).\u00a0 Ms Smith explained that teaching the handling and care of horses stimulates recovery through individual growth in tolerance, empowerment and understanding, among other strengths.<br \/>\nHealing Hearts with Horses Foundation is based at SierraRose (one word) Farms, located on W.
