He was one of two of the most prolific Wall Broach operators we had. He and Marv Whitford used to compete to see who could run the most doubles (two bearings at a time). They both could run over 20,000 bearings during an 8-hour shift.<br \/>\nFred transferred to the Toolroom on November 18, 1969 and was at the time this photo was taken, the Toolroom group leader. By then the position of Toolroom supervisor had been eliminated.
