Upcoming concert and 2010 needs
\nThe Wilson Center in St. Johns will play host to two local talents on Sat, Dec 4, 2010 all in support of the Clinton County Toys for Tots program.\u00a0 Louie Longoria and Steve “Elvis” Hunt will entertain you with a mix of their own songs and Christmas music.
\nThe concert starts at 7 pm and the cost is $10 or a new unwrapped toy, valued at $10 or more.\u00a0 Advance tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce (1013 S US 27 in St. Johns) from Brenda Terpening, coordinator of the Toys for Tots program or from Louie Longoria at Bee\u2019s Motors in St. Johns.\u00a0
\nToy collection boxes were just recently placed in businesses throughout Clinton County. \u00a0 Toys will be collected through December 16 and distributed to several hundred children throughout the county.\u00a0 If your family needs assistance with clothing, food and toys for the holidays, register with Capital Area Community Services at 989-224-6702. If you need assistance with just toys call Clinton County Toys for Tots at 989-224-7248.
\nFor anyone donating a toy, please consider this.\u00a0 The campaign always gets lots of games, baby dolls, Barbie dolls, cars, trucks, footballs and basketballs.\u00a0 Some things that are often requested but we don\u2019t get enough of are:\u00a0 hair accessories, craft kits, teen magazines and CD\u2019s for girls and sports apparel (hats and shirts), MP3 players and video games for boys.\u00a0 Specific items on lists this year include Pillow Pets, Toy Story figures, Dora the Explorer, craft kits (for older girls), magazines, Fur Real Pets and CD\u2019s.\u00a0 Popular teen magazines include Seventeen, Girls Life, J-14, M Magazine and Teen Vogue.\u00a0 Some of the popular singers include Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Miley Cryus, Lady Gaga, Jonas Brothers and Greyson Chance.
