Well you’re not the only one. The anticipation of the celebration of Christmas is over and the bills are starting to roll in.
Boy, Santa must’ve been good to us!
There are a lot of things to look forward to after Christmas and one of them is that the days are getting longer. I always like that part. It’s time to start looking forward to other holidays after New Years Eve including Groundhog Day, and one of my favorites, St. Patrick’s Day which signals the coming of spring.

* * *

I’d like to take a moment and reflect on my accomplishments the past year — funny, I can’t think of anything. Reflecting is a lot like giving a cheap gift, it’s the thought that counts.
What do I do about New Year’s resolutions? Nothing, I have no bad habits. Yeah, I know, I’m lying to you a little. I’d like to say that I promise not to eat so much, drink so much, cuss so much, get mad so much, and not look down the end of my nose at some people so much. But then I wouldn’t be me. I don’t think I can pull that off.
All of this reflecting came to me immediately after taking a nap which proves that a nap has its worth. I feel another nap coming on.

* * *

There’s a group in Michigan called, “Protect Private Rights in Michigan” which is protesting the recent state law banning smoking in bars. Part of that protest will be to allow patrons to smoke in their bars on New Years Eve. They’ve lost business since the law was passed, so I can’t say that I blame them.
I hope they do and that it’s successful. Who wants to go into a bar and find Michele Obama standing on a table and telling us what we should eat, drink, or that smoking is bad for us. We already know that. Why doesn’t she talk to her husband about his smoking and eating habits instead of taking on the rest of us?

* * *

A few thoughts:
The problem with unemployment in America today is that people aren’t looking for “a” job; they’re looking for “the” job.
I want an amendment to the bill of rights that says American citizens have a right to their dignity. Apparently there isn’t one now. The government is treating us like so many cattle.
Now that those in the military can be openly gay, who does it serve, the individual or the nation? I always thought the nation should come first.
I would like to see a moratorium on any new legislation coming out of Washington until they’re corrected the tons of mistakes they’ve made on the legislation they’ve already passed. We have way too much government intruding in our lives.
Am I the only one who thinks Jay Leno looks like Boris Karloff?
Until the next time . . .

[9

post-20205","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
