\"\"Special workshop for farm women
\nAnnie was a woman who grew up in a small farm community with a goal to marry a farmer and she did. Annie spent her lifetime learning how to be an involved business partner with her farm husband. Together they did great things, but it wasn\u2019t easy. This is Annie\u2019s project \u2013 to take her life\u2019s experiences and share it with farm women living and working in a complex, dynamic, evolving business environment. \nAnnie\u2019s Project is designed to empower farm women to manage information systems used in critical decision making processes and to build local networks throughout the state. The target audience is farm women with a passion for business and involvement.
\nFarm women will receive training for managing information in the areas of: (1) Financial Records, (2) Production Records, (3) Marketing Plans and Risk Management, (4) Legal\/Regulation Records and Documentation, and, (5) Human Resources and Time Management. A group of hand selected speakers have been recruited as presenters for each of these sessions.
\nLast year 30 women from central Michigan attended Annie\u2019s Project. This is what one participant had to say, “Best class yet! Very informative and explained (farm business management) in an understandable and comprehensive approach.”
\nThis women\u2019s empowerment program will be offered in six sessions beginning on Thursday, February 3, 2011 and continuing through March 10, 2011. Meetings will be held in the Maple Leaf Room, 324 W. Wright Ave., Shepherd beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and ending at 9:00 p.m. Contact Marilyn Thelen at the Clinton county extension office 100 E.
