Galecka, Leanna Marie (Merritt) Schwab<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Kaye Pilmore<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/pilmore_kaye.jpg\" HSPACE=\"5\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Kaloa \u201cKaye\u201d Pilmore, age 67, died January 25, 2011. Born in St. Louis, Missouri July 28, 1943, the daughter of William A. and Leola Bell (Ramailia) Sack.  Kaye married Dennis Pilmore on August 29, 1964 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1993.  Kaye was the former Clinton County Arts Council Director and will be remembered for her love and passion for the Arts and for her positive loving reflection towards her friends and family.<br \/>\nKaye is survived by her three children, Robert Pilmore of St. Francis, WI., Barbara (Russ Braman) Pilmore of Williamsville, NY., and Patricia Pilmore of Racine, WI., grandchildren, Alexander Pilmore, Elise Braman, Kaelyn Braman, sisters, Debra (Richard) Croff, and Linda (John) Rutherford and several nieces and nephews. Kaye was also preceded in death by her parents, and brother, William Jr..<br \/>\nMemorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, January 28, 2011, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneral.com\/ \"target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a> at 104 E. Cass St. in St. Johns, with Pastor David Hudgens officiating. Contributions in leiu of flowers may be made to the Pewamo-Westphalia Drama or Band Department or a charity of the donor\u2019s choice. Galecka<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/galecka_marilyn.jpg\" HSPACE=\"5\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Marilyn T. Galecka, age 68, of Elsie, MI passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home.<br \/>\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril&#8217;s Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.<br \/>\nMarilyn was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 9, 1942, the daughter of John and Anna (Tomasek) Kral. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1960 and attended Central Michigan University receiving her bachelor&#8217;s degree. On December 27, 1969 she married Joseph Galecka in Bannister, Michigan, Joe died on January 21, 2007. Marilyn was a homemaker. She had taught elementary school before her marriage. She enjoyed playing cards, accordion, and was the keeper of the family history. Marilyn helped run the family farm and orchard. Family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time at the cabin on Higgins Lake. She resided most of her life in the Elsie area and was a member of St. Cyril&#8217;s Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, and a member of the St. Cyril&#8217;s Altar Society.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her 3 sons, Craig and Heather Galecka of Williamston, MI, Matt and Jessica Galecka of Dimondale, MI, and Mark Galecka of Novi, MI; grandchildren, Mitchell, Lydia, and Clara Galecka; and brother, Richard and Marty Kral of Fife Lake, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; and daughter-in-law, Michelle. Memorials may be made to St. Cyril&#8217;s Catholic Church. The family is being served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/a> Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Leanna Marie (Merritt) Schwab<\/strong><br \/>\nLeanna Marie (Merritt) Schwab, 38, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on January 19, 2011 after a courageous year long battle with cancer. Adored Wife of Jody L. Schwab, beloved Mother of Bradley Merritt, treasured Mom of Melany Schwab and Jason Schwab. Leanna was born in Jerome, Idaho to Gerald R. (deceased) and Susan (Preston) Merritt. Leanna graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1990. She spent two years in the US Army, where she was stationed in Korea and Ft. Hood, Texas. Leanna was employed as Dealer Filing and Storage Account Manager at Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, of Walker, MI, where she continued to work in the office when able, and from home when she was suffering the effects of chemotherapy.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her husband and children; her parents, Sue and Harold Pease of Ovid, parents-in-law Don and Jan Schwab of Florida, brothers Russell Merritt of Pembroke, VA, Jeffrey Merritt of St. Johns, and Dan Hough of Owosso; step-siblings Kevin (Mary) Pease, Shari (Mike) Yawn, and Steven (Michele) Pease; dedicated siblings-in-law Josh and Maggie Schwab; special aunts Kathy Preston and Peggy (Bruce) Droste; Uncle Daniel (Donna) Neal; cousins Patrick Webb, Deanna Causey, Larry Briggs, Heather Lofton, Christopher Neal and Michael Neal, special nieces Brandi Dussing, Miranda VanHaun, Amber Schwab and Kasey Schwab, and nephews Brandon Merritt, Kolton Meyer and Joshua Schwab. She will be sorely missed by her Pipp family, Evelyn, Allen, Jim, the &#8220;Pipp Chicks&#8221;, and the entire staff and warehouse crew, whose constant support of the commitment to Leanna have been unparalleled; her account managers and clients, whose cards and gifts have meant so much; special friends Shelley and Dave Lilly, Nancy and Steve Stephens, Tamika Shinaver and Kris Howell. Leanna was preceded in death by her father, Gerald R. Merritt; maternal grandparents, Warren Preston and Geraldine Neal; paternal grandparents Arthur Merritt and Marceline Merritt, and Uncle Art Sjoberg.<br \/>\nA Memorial Celebration of Leanna&#8217;s life will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, 11:00 am at the Church of the Nazarene, 83 E. Tuttle Rd, Ionia, MI 48846, with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Kirk Starkweather will be officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Michigan.
