Baker’s Business and Corporate Services is offering workshops for businesses and the community in April.
\n“Essentials of Contract Negotiation” focuses on effective negotiating skills which are the keys to success in both business and life. Good negotiation tactics can help your team handle deals and clients with renewed confidence and unified strength and can enhance skills of sales professionals, buyers, corporate leaders, managers, financial officers, and CEO’s! This interactive workshop will engage participants in instruction, group activity, and role play as important tips on negotiating and drafting sound business contracts and techniques for handling other business situations are shared. Scheduled for April 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Bentley Campus Board Room.

\nWelding training is also available in April. “Fundamentals of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW-TIG Welding)” is scheduled for April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. “Basic Welding Maintenance and Repair” will be held April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

\nBaker offers training for paid and volunteer workers<\/strong>
\nBaker’s Business and Corporate Services is offering training for use in the workplace and in volunteer experiences!
\n“Basic Accounting for Non-financial Professionals” is designed to help non-financial professionals and volunteers gain basic accounting knowledge needed to understand financial reports and to utilize accounting systems more effectively. Our accounting expert will lead this two-part workshop and introduce major financial statements and how to interpret them. The session also introduces the double entry accounting system, and covers the basic rules of debits and credits, and how to record basic general journal entries. This two-part workshop is perfect for non-profit board members responsible for reviewing financial reports and for small business owners and managers. Scheduled for April 18 and 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Bentley Campus Board Room.

\nBaker\u2019s Business and Corporate Services is offering computer training in April for use at work or at home!
\n“Just the Basics! Word Processing Fundamentals” is designed with your busy schedule in mind! It\u2019s full of practical, hands-on activities to teach fundamentals of word processing with Microsoft Word. Learn to layout and format a letter; adjust margins and page orientation; check spelling; cut, copy and paste text; create bulleted lists, headers and footers; print documents, and more! Bring along your own project for more practice! This workshop is scheduled for April 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bentley Campus, Room 1547.
\n“Just the Basics! Spreadsheet Fundamentals” will get you on the fast track to learn spreadsheet features that you can use every day! In this three-hour hands-on workshop, you will use Microsoft Excel to learn how to create and save a spreadsheet; enter, edit and format data; automatically add or make other calculations easily with just a click! Learn to cut, copy and paste; create and sort lists; create basic formulas and use time-saving shortcuts! Great for setting up a budget, balancing your checkbook, or creating an address list. Scheduled for April 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bentley Campus, Room 1547.
\n“Advanced QuickBooks 2010” helps individuals learn to customize and create new reports in QuickBooks, create a secure environment, set up budgets, and to utilize QuickBooks letters. (Students must have completed or be proficient in intermediate-level QuickBooks skills.) Scheduled for April 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Bentley Campus, Room 1547.

This session introduces new computer users to basic concepts and skills for personal computers. Activities focus on how to power up and shut down; use the mouse and keyboard; use menus; open and close programs; create, save and print files; and how to find help.
