Governor’s Council
\nThe 2011 Clinton Family Fit Fest has been recognized as a quality physical activity event by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
\nSparrow Clinton Hospital has rallied dozens of community organizations and businesses to create the Clinton Family Fit Fest. This free, fun-filled expo – held Friday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in St. Johns – benefits preschools and elementary-age children, their siblings and parents.
\nClinton Family Fit Fest offers families practical take-home solutions for better nutrition and increased physical activity. Attendees learn about nutrition through fun, hands-on preparation of healthy foods designed to encourage better meal and snack choices. They also explore new games and physical activities that can be incorporated into their daily routines as well as learn more about current activities and programs in area communities. In addition, a series of 15-minute classes allow kids to try a variety of new challenges, such as hip hop dance, karate, jump rope and gymnastics.
\nThe Governor’s Council endorses local, regional and state events to acknowledge an organization’s ability to plan and carry out a quality event that significantly contributes to the health and well-being of Michigan residents. Because the Clinton Family Fit Fest exemplifies this core value, it has been reviewed for physical content and endorsed by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
