\nWhen Sparrow Clinton Hospital was founded in 1927, volunteers played an integral role in the development and delivery of quality health care.
\nIn celebration of current contributions, Sparrow Clinton honored volunteers’ achievements at its annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. All volunteers in good standing were invited to share in the celebration, which recognized the exceptional achievements of the hospital’s 288 volunteers.

\nSparrow Clinton Hospital President and CEO Ed Bruun (from left) is joined by SCH 2010 Volunteers of the Year Nancy Moore and Judy Minnerand SCH Board of Directors Chairman Dave Hunt. Minner and Moore were recognized for exceptional services at the hospital’s annual volunteer luncheon.<\/em>
\nJudy Minner of St. Johns and Nancy Moore of St. Johns were named 2010 Volunteers of the Year. Together, Minner and Moore have donated more than 9,000 cumulative hours of service to Sparrow Clinton. Both volunteers are instrumental in the operation of the Sparrow Clinton Hospital Gift Shop, serving as cashiers and product buyers. Minner and Moore also sit on the Auxiliary Installation Committee and consistently volunteer their time and talents in support of the Community Health Fair, Stroke for Life and Chicks for Charity golf outings and Auxiliary Flower and Scrubs sales.
\n“Giving 110 percent aptly describes Judy Minner and Nancy Moore,” said Nan Simons, director of Sparrow Clinton Hospital Community Relations, Marketing and Volunteers. “They are dedicated advocates of our hospital as well as devoted Auxilians.”

\nIn addition, Kay Mishler of St. Johns was honored as she embarks on her 50th year of volunteer service with the hospital. Mishler was named 1990 Auxilian of the Year and has twice served as Auxiliary President. She is active in Auxiliary activities and regularly assists with hospital blood drives. Her community service via the American Legion spans more than 40 years.
\nSparrow Clinton Hospital volunteers contributed more than 7,397 hours of service in 2010. The hospital also honored the following volunteers for years and hours of service:
