Just this past month, the first year of participation was completed and celebrated at the hospital.
\n“Keeping moms and babies safe is what MORE-OB is all about,” said Carson City Hospital Vice President Matt Thompson. “We’re very proud to be a pilot for this unique program that embraces the concept of always putting patient safety first.”
\nAccording to CCH O.B. Department Manager Shelly Betancourt, CCH’s participation in MORE-OB is based on performance improvement in patient safety and risk reduction for the patients served.
\n“The focus in year one was to learn together to ensure that everyone has the same background knowledge and information to prepare to work more effectively as a team,” said Betancourt. “During this phase, each MORE-OB Core Team member learned core content, participated in skills drills, and attended valuable workshops. Known as Module 1, this first year helped develop a foundation of trust and respect amongst our entire staff.”
\nThe second phase of the pilot program – titled Module 2: Working Together – will launch on July 21. In addition to building on a common knowledge base from the Module 1, healthcare providers will also work together to practice emergency drills. This will ensure that team response is well coordinated. Adding to the foundation of trust and respect, communication and teamwork tools will be provided at this stage to help foster a more efficient communication environment.
\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/gallery\/11june\/carsonsob.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"image\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/>
\nThe Carson City Hospital (CCH) MORE-OB Core Team members are pictured.
\nCCH O.B.
