{"id":23220,"date":"2011-06-16T23:47:38","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T03:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=23220"},"modified":"2011-06-16T23:47:38","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T03:47:38","slug":"dar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/dar\/","title":{"rendered":"Seeking Abigail Corbin Peck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seeking interested historians and descendants<!--more--> of Abigail Corbin Peck, only known female Revolutionary War patriot to be buried in Clinton County.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe St Johns River Wabwaysin Chapter NSDAR and the Clinton County Historical Society will be honoring Abigail Corbin Peck with a new grave marker and a rededication in recognition of her Patriot Service. The rededication is on Sunday June 26 at 2pm\u00a0at Boughton Cemetery, Riley Township, Clinton County. Both Societies invite all descendants and interested parties to attend. The cemetery is located at the west end of Church Road on Dexter Trail just south of Price Road, near St. Peter Lutheran Church.<br \/>\nAbigail Corbin Peck was born in 1747 in Connecticut.  While her husband Phineas was serving in the military during the Siege of Danbury in 1777, Abigail took in and nursed the wounded for which she was declared a Patriot. At age 72 she left her home in New York with grandsons Philip P., Elkanah Jr., and James Peck for Ohio. Later they moved to Lenawee County and finally, at the age of 92, Abigail and her family arrived at Section 8 Riley Township, Michigan.
