VanDeusen, Bernita Margaret Vitek, Patricia Anne Wiseman, Edna M. Whittaker, Genaro \u201cHenry\u201d Longoria<!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/vandeusen_larry.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Larry A. \u201cPapa\u201d VanDeusen, 64 of Ovid passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. Larry was born on Aug. 2, 1946 in Owosso, MI the son of Lewis and Dorothy (Good) VanDeusen. He had worked at Mitchell Bentley, Midland Ross, Cal\u2019s Merchandise, Wal-Mart in Owosso and for 38 years at Owosso Speedway where he met the love of his life, Kathy McClung whom he married on May 20, 1972. He enjoyed auto racing, flower gardening, decorating the family home for holidays, NASCAR and his favorite driver, Mark Martin. He especially enjoyed his family and grandsons.<br \/>\nHe us survived by his wife Kathy; son Jason of Ovid, daughters Lisa (Ian) Thomlison of Elsie and Amy VanDeusen of Ovid, the joy of his life, grandsons Orion and Levi Thomlison, father Lewis VanDeusen of Owosso, brothers Richard (Joyce) of Lake, MI, Jack (Georgene) of Kentwood, MI, Cal (Dot) of St. Johns, Doug (Marie) of Ovid, Jerry (Maryann Hehrer) of Ovid, Bill(Clara) of Fowler, sisters Linda (John) Bona of New York, and Pat (Bert) Leland of Owosso, several nieces and nephews. Special friends Tom and Jan Moberg. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, in laws, Charles McClung, Barbara McClung, nephews Lynn and David VanDeusen.<br \/>\nThe family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns on Thursday, June 16, 2011, 6-8 P.M. and Friday, June 17, 2011, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 12 noon with Rev. Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid. Memorials may be made to the family for the charity of their choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Bernita Margaret Vitek<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/vitek_bernita.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Bernita Margaret Vitek, loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at the age of 93. She was born August 1, 1917 in Riley Township, Clinton County, Michigan the oldest of 11 children born to Joseph and Elizabeth (Thelen) Fedewa. Bernita married Alex Vitek on November 5, 1941 in Westphalia, Michigan.<br \/>\nThey were married 55 years and together they raised 10 children. Bernita was a gentle woman with a warm smile and was a supportive farm wife and Amway distributor. Being of German heritage, she was a hardworking, frugal homemaker, using her talents of gardening, canning, sewing and baking. For pleasure Alex and Bernita enjoyed traveling, music, dancing and playing cards with their grand and great grandchildren. Bernita was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society and Hazel Findlay Quilt Group.<br \/>\nShe leaves her family of four sons, Raymond (Sharon), John (Camilla), Richard (Marilyn), and Larry Vitek; five daughters, Mary Ann (Gerald) Pung, Agnes Marie (Robert) Showers, Delores (Glen) Hinckley, Jane Vitek and Diane (John) Wemlinger; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Vitek; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Thelen and Sr. Joanne Fedewa SLW; four brothers, Msgr. Sylvester Fedewa, Rev. Fr. Matthew Fedewa, James (Mary Ann) Fedewa and Joseph (Janice) Fedewa and many nieces and nephews. Bernita was met at Heavens Gate by her husband Alex, son Robert, three sisters, Mary Smith, Odelia Thelen and Catherine VanAcker and one brother, Leo Fedewa. Bernita\u2019s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hazel Findlay Country Manor and Hospice Advantage for the excellent care given to our loved one.<br \/>\nMass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, June 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden St. Johns with Msgr. Sylvester Fedewa, Rev. Fr. Matthew<br \/>\nFedewa and Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy, Pastor as Con-Celebrants. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, June 15 with a rosary prayed at 8:00 PM and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, June 16 with a vigil service at 8:00 PM at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns. The family will also receive visitors 9:00 to 10:00 AM Friday, June 17 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Educational Trust Fund or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Patricia Anne Wiseman<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/wiseman_pat2.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Pat Wiseman, a woman of indomitable spirit, passed gracefully into eternity on Sunday, June 12, at the age of 85 with her family by her side. She was born June 10, 1926 in Marquette, Michigan to Willard and Siiri (Piirto) Truckey. She graduated from Graveraet High School in Marquette in 1944 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Northern Michigan College of Education (now Northern Michigan University) in 1949.<br \/>\nOn January 30, 1950 she married Thomas R. Wiseman in Marquette. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1979. His engineering position with the Michigan Department of Transportation, took them to a number of different towns in Michigan, including 16 years in Cadillac, before they finally settled in St. Johns, MI in 1976.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/wiseman_pat1.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and a formermember of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac. In the past she was a coordinator for the former Good Samaritan Services in St. Johns, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and served as a grief support volunteer for both hospice and St. Joseph Church. She was an avid Spartan fan and enjoyed swimming, tennis, and, even into her late 70\u2019s, ice skating. One of her proudest accomplishments was swimming a mile in Lake Superior. She had a lifelong love of music and in her early years was a piano accompanist for many groups and musicians, including polka bands, jazz bands, and choruses. One of her greatest joys though was raising her children. She often said she felt she was<br \/>\nblessed with a wonderful life.<br \/>\nShe is survived by her six children: Paula (Richard Starck) Wiseman of St. Johns, Patrice (David) Smith of Paw Paw, Thomas (Michelle) Wiseman of St. Johns, Timothy Wiseman of St. Johns, David Wiseman of Lansing, and Jennifer (Charles) Henrich of Battle Creek. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Thomas (Amanda) and Andrew Starck; Allison (Robert) Leonard, Lindsey (Brian) Quaranta, and Benjamin Smith; Ryan (Trish), Chad, and Abby Wiseman; and Justin and Matthew Henrich. In addition she is survived by six great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren: Marcy (Jeff) Clarke and<br \/>\nEric (Sarah) Starck. Also surviving are her six brothers and sisters: Robert (Dorothy) Truckey of Ishpeming, Willard (Maryrene) Truckey of Munising, John (Ruth) Truckey of Sault Ste. Marie, George (Sue) Truckey of Duluth, MN, Mary (Robert) Apple of Marquette, and Barbara Truckey of Milwaukee, WI, as well as many nieces and nephews.<br \/>\nA rosary and vigil service will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 15, at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Eoin Murphy on Thursday, June 16, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. ohns. Rite of Committal and internment will take place Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette. Memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services, 1210 W. Whittaker<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/whittacher_edna.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Edna M. Whittaker, age 93, passed away on June 11, 2011 in Charlotte, Michigan. Edna was born in Boston, MA on January 1, 1918, the daughter of Harold and Helene (Vipont) Eichbauer. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and a homemaker. Edna married Harry J. Whittaker on June 1, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1997.<br \/>\nEdna is survived by her sons, Larry Whittaker of Titusville, Florida, James Whittaker of Roscommon, Jerry Whittaker of Livonia and Dwight Whittaker of Lansing, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.<br \/>\nMemorial Mass will be 11:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. There will be no visitation. Sympathy may be expressed with memorials to Youth Haven Ranch in Rives Junction, MI or St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital in Memphis, TN or to the Memorial Fund for Veterans of WW II. The family was served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneral.com\/ \"target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Genaro \u201cHenry\u201d Longoria<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/longoria_henry.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Genaro \u201cHenry\u201d Cantu Longoria passed away on June 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born September 19, 1933 in Pearsall, Texas, the son of Guillermo and Micaela (Cantu) Longoria. He worked at Instiform for 15 years and at Midland Ross for 15 years. On July 26, 1958 he married Angelica Soliz in Ovid, Michigan.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his wife Angelica, four children, Sarah (Doug) Kelly of Tampa FL, Ruben (Dodie) Longoria of Holly Springs, NC, Natasha (Chris) Andrews of Bannister, MI and Tiffany (Yondri) Peraza of Clarksville, TN, his grandson, Adam Andrews and granddaughter, Angela Longoria. He is also survived by his four sisters, Maria (Bene) Garcia of Ocoee, FL, Sara Pichardo of Pearsall, TX, Felipa (Santos) Garcia of St. Johns and LichaChavera of Pearsall, TX and many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Donanto, Luciano, Abelardo and Eufemio Longoria, his two sisters, Marcela Vasquez and Alberta Rodriquez, great grandson, Kayden Longoria and nephews, Robert Longoria, James Kimmel and Simon Williams.<br \/>\nHis family will receive friends at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneral.com\/ \"target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Home<\/a> in St. Johns, 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, June 13, 2011. The funeral will be at 1 pm Tuesday, June 14 also at the funeral home in St. Johns. The burial will follow the service at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid.
