Practices for the 2011 St. Johns Mint Festival Pageant are under way.
\nA total of 22 young girls and ladies from Clinton County are participating in the 27th Annual Pageant that will take place on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 pm in the auditorium of the St. Johns High School. Tickets for the pageant ($8.50 general seating) are now on sale at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce office, which is located at 1013 S US 27 in St. Johns (inside the CC RESA Building across from McDonalds).
\nThe following young girls are participating in the pageant, each hoping to become the 2011 Little Miss Mint: Madisyn Kotowicz, Brianne LaBar, Gabrielle Moon, Kaitlyn Neubecker, Audrey Rademacher, Rachel Rademacher, Madison Simmon and Felicia Rose-Marie Welton.
\nParticipating in the Junior Miss Mint category are: Caitlin Beck, Faith Brown, Natalie Kayla DeLong, Caitlyn Henning, McKenna Karey Kindel, Alissa Longoria, Emily Elizabeth Rademacher and Sarah Ward
\nThe young ladies participating in the Queen category are: Paige Burnash, Madison Amara Cook, Chelsea Fisher, Haley Griffith, Trista Malek and Madison Kay Olson.
\nThe pageant, which will be emceed by Evan Pinsonnault from WLNS Channel 6 promises to be an elegant affair. The theme for this year\u2019s pageant is “Summer Fund”. A special part of the pageant will be a power point presentation showing the audience everything the girls have been doing leading up to the pageant evening.
\nThe pageant has been a sell-out for the last several years so if you plan to attend you are encouraged to purchase your tickets in advance.
\nEach year all of the contestants participate in a community service project. This year they will be doing a pop can drive on Tuesday, July 26 to benefit the proposed Splash Park in St. Johns. They won\u2019t be able to cover all the town, so if you would like to donate some cans, drop them off outside Heathers Dance Studio (corner of Clinton Avenue and Higham Street) on Tuesday between 5:30-7:30 pm. They will be out in neighborhoods from 7:30-9:00 pm.
