\nReaders have been asking, Where\u2019s Barry? Did he get fired? Did he quit? Those were probably some of the things they wondered.
\nThe truth is Betty and I have been on a long hard journey through Twilight Zone that took Betty to the brink of death and back.
\nAfter 2 \u00bd months in the hospital she was transferred to Hazel Findlay. Her stay there was short lived because she wanted to go home. Who was I to say no? She just had to get out of there so she went AWOL which simply means she left without doctor\u2019s permission.
\nHIFCM instituted a policy that denies patients who go AWOL, their meds. I think it is a spiteful policy, if not illegal, and they ought to rethink it. After a call to the doctor we got most but not all of them. HIFCM sent four packets back to their pharmacy for credit. We were left to fend for ourselves even though our insurance company paid for the meds. This created another stressful situation trying get her remaining meds. Thanks to the great work of our pharmacy, Rite-Aid, we are now back on schedule to get all her meds renewed on a monthly basis and covered by our insurance.
\nAs to how well Betty is doing since she\u2019s been home, she\u2019s thriving! Were we right in bucking the system? You betcha! She\u2019s lost 25 lbs in excess fluids since she\u2019s been home which will help get her off oxygen and return her to a more normal life. For her, home is a healing place.
\nShe\u2019s doing body and breathing exercises and small chores around the house. She progresses each day and goes to bed every night a bit sore. She\u2019s one tough lady. They say that it takes a year to fully recover but my money\u2019s on Betty to cut that down a bit.<\/p>\n

I got him! Punxsutawney Phil that is. Keep in mind this is not a “catch and release into the wild” program. I think it\u2019s illegal to trap wild animals and drop them off in the country anyway. I\u2019m sure this is a Phil and not a Philly because it was ornery as hell. The one I caught last year was pretty much subdued. Obviously this animal does not belong in my yard and especially in my garden. It seems like we have to reclaim the city every summer.

\nI\u2019m waiting, with a live trap ready, for the next one to show up. You know what they say; if there\u2019s one, there\u2019s two.<\/p>\n

As of this writing they\u2019re still debating the budget and debt ceiling in Washington. The Democrats are waiting for the Republicans to hang themselves even though the Democrats haven\u2019t lifted a finger to present a budget proposal themselves. The Republicans? I\u2019m waiting for them to help the Democrats out. I\u2019m expecting them to cave-in and agree to continue the wild spending spree they\u2019ve all been on that will eventually ruin the nation. Those Republican leaders are such wimps!

A few thoughts:
\nWhy all the concerns by the news media about where Casey Anthony went after being released from jail? I could care less if I never heard about her again. Yes, she\u2019s guilty.
\nThere\u2019s little shame left in this country anymore. Nowadays anything goes. We keep on approving less than normal behavior that continues to get even more less than normal. Our society is breaking down and it\u2019s sad to see.
\nThere\u2019s a disease in the White House and we need to cure it next November.
\nI\u2019m still hoping the Jimmy Fallon Show evolves a little more. It has its moments of brilliance, but then it turns into the Gong Show. I fast forward those Gong Show segments. I\u2019d rather waste my time playing computer solitaire.
\nI don\u2019t understand why this country allows people to come here from countries considered the birth place of global terrorist. What the hell\u2019s wrong with us?
